Sales Director directs sales organization operations and develops the tactics, operational plans, and processes to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. Establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales organization's operations. Being a Sales Director oversees goal setting for departmental and group levels of the sales organization and uses data and technology to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Implements methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base. Additionally, Sales Director uses market and customer insights to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products. Builds effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and development programs. May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Sales Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Sales Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain contact with key customers to assure the division is promoting and maintaining the highest possible customer relationship and satisfaction.
    • Manage all contractual requirements with customers.
    • Develop and execute budgets, short-term plans, and long-term plans, policies, procedures, and initiatives. Work with team to maintain accountability to budgets, plans, and initiatives.
    • Identify and contribute to new product and product enhancement opportunities.
    • Manage the overall sales channels and balance market sales concentrations in line with division strategy.
    • Work with leadership to establish and maintain product pricing, distribution, and discount policies.
    • Coordinate and communicate matters of mutual concern with internal and external teams.
    • Oversee and ensure various programs essential to sales are established and maintained to division standards.
    • Keep internal teams informed of competitive information gained regarding pricing, products, or general issues in the market.
    • Evaluate, analyze, and recommend potential acquisitions or partnerships.
    • Participate in industry events such as trade shows, conferences, and other travel as required.
    • Coordinate and/or direct major projects.
    • Work with leadership staff to develop and monitor metrics relevant to division business model.
    • Keep informed of new developments in the economy or marketplace that are relative to the success of the division.
    • Either directly or through team, assure staffing requirements are met.
    • Encourage team member growth and development.
    • Demonstrates the Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions and encourages their teams to do the same.
    • Administer annual team member performance reviews, goal setting, and salary planning.
    • Maintain records on direct reports in relation to attendance and performance.
    • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
    • Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field. Minimum 8 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Thorough knowledge of sales and business development. Knowledge of general accounting. Experience managing budgets and increasing efficiency. Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills. High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members. Ability to be flexible and multitask. Creativity and problem-solving skills. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Ability to travel up to 50% of time, depending on position. Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required. Refer to Viaflex Vehicle Operations Policy CS-13 for guidelines.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
