Mechanical Design Engineer (Sales Engineering) - TYMETAL Corp.

TYMETAL Corp. has a rewarding full-time opportunity for a Design Engineer to work closely with our sales team in our Greenwich, NY office. This individual will work with sales and our customers on new product design and modifications that resolve the customers' security concerns. This position is a key driver in new product development and innovation based on customer feedback.

Responsibilities of our Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Work closely with the Engineering Manager, the Operations Manager and the Sales Department on new product development, design modifications to existing products and changes in manufacturing methods to improve manufacturing.
• Interface with customers in person, in writing and over the telephone to manage projects, provide technical support and/or request clarification as needed.
• Thoroughly and completely review job specifications and plans prior to disseminating design or other technical information.
• Accurately create dimensioned shop submittal drawings of manufactured products and parts to be used to obtain customer approval and support product installation.
• Accurately perform all necessary design calculations required in the development of submittal drawings.
• Develop and provide an accurate and complete bill of all materials and routings that will be used during project quoting and estimating efforts.
• Provide technical assistance as needed to all associates.

Qualifications of our Mechanical Design Engineer:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience/degree.
• 5-7 years of experience as a Design Engineer supporting the sales effort.
• Experience with new product development, bringing products from concept to production.
• Steel and aluminum manufacturing and fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required.
• Experience with CNC programming software desired.
• Familiarity with document management systems.
