Sales Promotion Manager manages, develops, and implements sales promotion policies, programs, and initiatives to support the marketing and branding strategy of the organization. Being a Sales Promotion Manager creates and conveys brand messages to improve brand awareness and perception. Identifies promotional merchandise suppliers and negotiates pricing and delivery schedules. Additionally, Sales Promotion Manager coordinates distribution of materials with internal teams.     Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Position is non-supervisory and is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the community health improvement planning (CHIP) with local communities.  Incumbent will work closely with local tribal chapters, public health organizations and other agencies to develop community health improvement plans.  Work involves research and analysis of community health needs; identifying resources, organizations, or tools to meet the top healthy priority needs; and facilitate monthly meetings.  Serve as a resource for community wellness policy development and programming.  Provide professional development opportunities; assist in development of community health improvement goals and objectives; provide technical assistance; and assist motivated communities in implementing wellness policies or health improvement plans.  Develop and strengthen partnerships with local health organizations to improve health services that meet the health need of respective communities.  Knowledge of Navajo Wellness Model is needed into incorporate cultural sensitivity to program and curricula delivered. Incumbent must be willing to work some evenings and weekends, and as needed. This position is grant funded.

    Qualifications

    NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, Exercise Science, or similar health-related field

            Experience:

    • Must have eighteen (18) months’ experience in the area of public health principles, practices, methods, implementation, coordination and evaluation of preventive health service programs.
    • Demonstrated experience in the areas of data collection, data analysis, and outcomes reporting in regards to health risk and status.
    • Experience in public speaking and group facilitation

    Certification:

    • Must have and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
    • Must maintain and have an unrestricted current valid state driver’s license

           Other Skills and Abilities:

    • A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.  All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:
    • Positive working relationships with others
    • Possession of high ethical standards and no history of complaints
    • Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences
    • Basic knowledge of principles and methods of epidemiology, statistics, computerized analysis of quantitative and non-quantitative data; basic understanding of research principles, practice, and ethical considerations
    • Proficient with the following software programs: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Adobe, and/or Access
    • Must maintain and have an unrestricted current valid state driver’s license
    • Strong interpersonal communication, leadership and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity
    • Knowledge of public health policy development, community-based health promotion and communications, and community building with an emphasis on active living, or healthy eating.
    • Completion of and, above-satisfactory scores on all job interviews, demonstrating to the satisfaction of the interviewees and TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
    • Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks, including positive employment references from authorized representatives of past and current employers demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC a record of satisfactory performance and that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
    • Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job

    PHYSICAL:

    Must be able to exercise physical exertion when overseeing activities. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, bend, and occasionally climb, kneel, crouch, twist, maintain balance, and reach. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. Must have ability of prolonged near and color vision, hearing normal speech, frequent far vision, depth perception, and telephone use as well as occasional seeing fine details and hearing overhead pages. Must be able to lift push and pull over 100lbs occasionally. Travels and transports equipment/supplies to various communities and conducts program activities in rural communities within the Tuba City Service Area. Must have use of both hands in simple grasping, fine manipulation, and using a keyboard as well as occasional firm grasping.

    MENTAL:

    Must be able to prioritize, use good judgment, and be able to coordinate a variety of projects while being frequently interrupted.  Must have a non-judgmental attitude and be comfortable working with low-resource individuals/communities. Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity. Must be able to continuously concentrate, frequently cope with high level of stress, make decisions under high pressure, manage altercation, handle multiple priorities in stressful situation, demonstrate high degree of patience, work in areas that are close and crowded, occasionally cope with anger/fear/hostility of others in a calm way, handle a high degree of flexibility, work alone, and adapt to shift work. Must accept a flexible schedule to meet unit needs.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide capacity building opportunities for communities to increase community engagement and ownership.
  • Conduct monthly meetings and visits with local chapters to identify their top health priorities and develop actions plans to improve community health outcomes.
  • Review and analyze community needs assessments to identify top health needs and services.
  • Facilitate and gather community input from focus groups, surveys, needs assessments, conversation cafés, etc.
  • Host regular meetings to plan, organize, promote and partner on CHIP activities.
  • Attend tribal chapter, planning, and partnership meetings as needed to implement actions plans to meet CHIP goals and objectives.
  • Utilize Navajo Wellness Model in program planning and health education activities.
  • Utilize appropriate media and marketing to promote and educate community; and, collaborating with TCRHCC Public Relations when appropriate.
  • Provides regular reports and presentations to partnering organizations, boards, and administration.
  • Monitors progress; and evaluates both process and population health outcomes.
  • Incorporates and integrates culturally-appropriate concepts and activities when delivering health promotion/diabetes prevention services and outreach efforts.
  • Assists with proposal write-ups for grants and pursues other funding sources for use in developing sustainable community prevention projects.
  • Delivers effective communication toward supervisor, program staff, program partnerships, hospital staff, and community members. Communication abilities include written and verbal skills that demonstrate the ability to motivate or encourage others to alter lifestyles and group dynamics.
  • Fosters partnerships within TCRHCC as well as with outside organizations. Provides leadership and assistance to other Service Unit HP/DP activities including development and implementation of other health promotion plans. Works with other departments for collaborative purposes and to meet common goals.
  • Assists in the supervision of HPDP Fitness Center operations.
  • Assists department with development and printing of media/marketing of programs, events, and activities.
  • Assists HPDP Assistant Program Director with organization of HPDP program assessment administration and reporting. Provides outcome reports and analysis for presentation; includes mandatory reporting.
  • Understands and adheres to established compliance, safety, and quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to face mask, gloves, gown, NIOSH-approve N95 filtering respirator or higher (if available), and eye or face shield.
  • Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (See CDC website for most current updates).
  • Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee, and external customer satisfaction (follow infection prevention standards per hospital policy).
  • Assists Community Connector Team by providing distribution of food, water and other necessary essentials to community members who are in isolation or quarantine.
  • Assists the Contract Tracing Team by performing contact tracing activities for patients testing positive for COVID-19, and conducting negative results calling.
  • Assists the Screening/Greeters at various entry points to ensure appropriate screening for all patients and visitors entering the TCRHCC campus.
