    1) Manage and administer the day to day operational and administrative activities in support of the AIAN BH CoE that aims to build relationships with key stakeholders to collaboratively address AIAN specific behavioral health disparities. 2) Establish a national AIAN CoE Steering Committee to identify issues and guide the CoE. 3) Provide culturally-responsive training and technical assistance. 4) Develop and deliver in-person, virtual and on-demand trainings, disseminate public facing tools, organize resources and increase reach of messaging. 5) Convene an annual Leadership Academy and both virtual and in-person Policy Academies. 6) Provide an evaluation of the project activities

    • Use specialized expertise and extensive knowledge to develop and administer strategic AIAN BH CoE workplans ensuring program priorities are aligned with regional and national objectives.
    • Maintain implementation strategies, innovative approaches, and issues/solutions in cooperation with the Program Director, including providing input regarding program and process improvements.
    • Plan, build, market, and oversee trainings, workshops, and technical assistance activities on best practices to internal and external health professionals regarding best practices for serving AIAN community members. Represent the AIAN BH CoE at national events and serve as presenter in trained areas.
    • Recruit, hire, and supervise new staff for the AIAN BH CoE.
    • Primary program liaison to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with leaders to discuss training needs and collaboratively plan events to address identified needs and priority audiences.
    • Collaborate directly with experts to develop program content and materials and coordinate contributions of clinical and programmatic faculty members and subcontractors.
    • Develop and administer outreach activities with behavioral healthcare providers and clinics across the country including but not limited to: planning and facilitating discovery calls to better understand training needs/ interests; maintaining relationships with past training participants to gauge interest in future training topics; meeting regularly with partners to discuss training needs.
    • Write needs assessment reports, environmental scan reports and program improvement recommendations, website content, and other program development documents as needed.
    • Manage concurrent deadlines of material review process, event promotion, and participant registration to ensure timely delivery of trainings and achieve attendance goals among target audiences.

    BUDGET MANAGEMENT & IMPLEMENTATION

    • Support the program director in the fiscal administration of state and federal funds maintaining compliance with grant and university policies.
    • Monitor contract and grant expenditures and ensure budget allocations are not overspent.
    • Oversee administrative processes related to event coordination, business travel, subcontract, software subscriptions (Canva, MailChimp), and the purchase of program supplies.
    • Manage all activities related to the Continuing Education (CME) credits awarded to training attendees, including but not limited to: 1) writing and submitting the applications; 2) coordinating/ filing conflict of interest statements for all program faculty; 3) documenting all required paperwork (agendas, evaluations, credit request forms, and certificates); and 4) managing the documentation of all credits awarded to training attendees annually.

      PRACTICE TRANSFORMATION
    • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with identified tribal leaders, practitioners, and community members.
    • Oversee and lead the AIAN CoE team to develop and complete multiple concurrent Quality Improvement projects within their clinic site(s). Make recommendations for change and improvement.
    • Facilitate and lead weekly staff meetings to assess capacity building needs and discuss project progress and challenges.
    • Document each weekly meeting with detailed agendas, meeting notes, and progress reports. Promote skill development through mentoring, and skill-building opportunities.
    • Attend all meetings with the SAMHSA Government Project Officer and Project Director. Meeting cadence is a monthly call with the GPO. Other mandatory meetings will be the quarterly Steering Committee Meetings, the Policy Fellow meetings and the Leadership Academy meetings.
    • Conduct annual program development and evaluation activities such as organizational assessments; progress status updates; performance measures; and implementation plan worksheet(s).

    PROGRAM MONITORING & EVALUATION

    • Work with the Program Evaluator to compile, analyze, interpret, and report monthly and annual data to the SAMHSA GPO.
    • Ensure qualitative and quantitative data reporting requirements are met, evaluate success of interventions, and direct changes to improve processes AIAN BH CoE team.
    • Develop timelines to ensure that all needs assessments, program monitoring, and evaluation activities are accomplished, and oversee quality of data submission to prime sponsor.
    • Manage and monitor workplan progress and report monthly progress to funders in written reports and monthly calls.
    • Evaluate and respond to emergent needs of the SAMHSA GPO and/or Project Director.
    • Provide quality oversight to all AIAN BH CoE trainings, technical assistance activities, and education materials.

    COMMUNITY OUTREACH

    • Coordinate program website, marketing, including developing program flyers, and overseeing social media engagement.
    • Represent the AIAN BH CoE in national, regional, and local meetings, committees, conferences, and workgroups.
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including tribal community leaders, behavioral health practitioners, and community members and develop relevant training programs that align with local, statewide, and national priorities.
    • Present conference presentations and guest lectures for community partners as needed. 

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of working with American Indian and Alaska Native Communities--community leaders, behavioral health practitioners, and community members.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting to small and large audiences and government officials.
    • Ability to discuss comfortably content related to mental health, substance use, health equity, and harm reduction.
    • Knowledge of curriculum design and applying principles of training and adult education.
    • Ability to work with culturally diverse groups and professional partners such as federal, local, and state officials, community advisory boards, people living with behavioral health lived expertise and other peer networks.
