Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership to the Sales Support team. This includes providing oversight of the quoting and preliminary drawing process to ensure deliverables are provided in a timely manner, as well as the execution of sales order. This position will monitor and manage the sales pipeline and provide recommendations to assist in meeting order and ship goals.
This position will assist in gathering customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, reps, and manufacturing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise team of Inside Sales Representatives that communicate with independent sales representatives and customers.
- Ability to provide technical advice and explain technical concepts to customers, Designers, and Engineers. Able to communicate internally customer’s project needs so the project can be quoted and ordered per customer’s expectations.
- Understand how to interpret technical specifications and drawings. Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or Solidworks.
- Conduct selling efforts as needed and assist independent sales representatives and Insides Sales Team in closing sales. Manage direct business and house account activity.
- Develop and implement new processes, improve current processes, and verify current level of training tools, communication best practices, along with training & methodologies to improve the overall effectiveness of the team. Ensure updates are being provide to independent sales representatives as appropriate for status of quotes, orders, production, etc.
- Monitor the lead generation process and ensure Inside Sales Team is following up with independent sales representatives on a weekly basis.
- Assist Inside Sales Team in creating and checking quotes and providing recommendations on discounting and gross margin. Ability to learn and understand Icon Shelter Systems'pricing structure and job costing.
- Ability to keep Quote and preliminary drawings on schedule.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all Icon Shelter Systems product lines.
- Ability to communicate with independent sales representatives and end customers in a technical manner by phone and email.
- Mentoring team members to improve their skills and knowledge through day-to-day coaching.
- Develop and manage project quoting, preliminary drawing, sales order process to ensure customer’s expectations are met.
- Provide personnel feedback on hiring, termination, compensation, and discipline. Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and improve the inside sales function.
- Develop and manage sales pipeline opportunities and assist Sales Manager along with other managers on strategies to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives that include meeting and/or exceeding financial performance goals.
- Provide timely preparation of reports and make recommendations based on data in the reports.
- Represent Icon Shelter Systems in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Review customer satisfaction surveys and identify action plans to improve overall customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Customer service/sales experience including the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- 5 years of experience in an engineer-to-order environment.
- 5 years of working experience in Inside Sales.
- 2 years of experience managing people.
Travel
- This position requires minimal travel
Computer Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
- Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems.
Other Skills
- Prefer candidates that have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a Business Discipline or Communication.
- Prefer candidates that have working experience in the Architectural & Construction industry.
- Prefer candidates that have experience managing customer product solutions.
- Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
