An exceptional candidate will have an aggressive, “Hunter” type sales approach and have knowledge/experience in Industrial Supplies, general maintenance, repair & operating supplies (MRO), Metalworking & Tooling supplies, pipe, valves & fittings (PVF), Industrial Vending Programs, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or Bin Replenishment (BIN) The ideal candidate will need a positive and confident attitude and passion for establishing new business/opening new accounts, primarily in manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities:

• Establish new business through execution of aggressive sales strategies by penetrating accounts at both the functional and executive levels.
• Develops a business partnership with customers to meet their internal goals and business strategies by offering our best-in-class program solutions.
• Demonstrate comfort and confidence using and implementing technology.
• Facilitate training for customers on www.Trumbull.com.
• Create a sales presentation for prospective customers that demonstrates knowledge of the latest products and services. Develops and grows sales by utilizing our extensive supplier network.
• Differentiate Trumbull from the competition to grow sales across all product lines.
• Collaborates and communicates with internal team to ensure operational efficiencies and service levels to exceed customer expectations.
• Enter orders accurately & in a timely fashion/place purchase orders with vendors for non-stock material.
• Instills Trust
• Expedite & track shipments of material.
• Support sales staff to obtain quotes from vendors.
• Review open order reports weekly/expedite with vendors where appropriate.
• Resolve problems for customers & return customer calls promptly.
• Maintain & modify an accurate customer database as needed.

Qualifications:

• “Hunter” type sales mentality/willing and able to cold call and continuously establish new business.
• 3- 5 plus years’ Outside Sales experience in one or more of the following: industrial, mill supplies, metalworking supplies, PVF, MRO or municipal sales, plumbing & kitchens, is required or relevant/successful Inside Sales track record with aptitude/capacity for Outside Sales (if only inside sales experience but have self-confidence for moving to Outside Sales, please submit your information and let’s see where this leads)
• PC proficiency/Microsoft Office Suite including Excel-aptitude to learn new computer applications.
• Strong organizational, time management/planning skills
• Excellent math, verbal/written communication, interpersonal & follow up skills.
• Persistent, decisive, self-motivated & results oriented disposition.
• Ability to work independently & as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task & prioritize work appropriately.
• Ability to react well in a fast-paced environment & follow through on commitments.
