Description: This is a full-time position designing and implementing a secondary alternative education curriculum for court-referred teenage boys. Courses will be conducted at our on-site school.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Model the Vision: Communicates the essence of “To the Fullest” in word and deed to OI personnel, business associates and the public.

2. Develop Curriculum: Assist with developing course curriculums including, but not limited to, Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Health and Physical Education, and GED preparation. Students range in age 13-17. Academic ability is from grades 3-12. Learning disabled to gifted achievers.

3. Teach Student Courses: Oversee online credit recovery program and assist teachers in the required student courses which include lesson preparation, assignments, testing, and grading ensuring the proper education for each student assigned.

4. Have Responsibility for Operation and Improvement: Assume definite responsibility toward the efficient operation and the improvement of the total program of the Outside In School.

5. Be Professional: Maintain professionalism with respect to students, other staff members, parents, and other school, state, and federal officials.

6. Be Familiar with Student Evaluation System: Be thoroughly familiar with the student evaluation system and communicate with students about their progress.

7. Complete Required Paperwork: Complete all required paperwork including student records, PIMS, SPEP, incident, injury, and expense reports, as needed.

8. Be Punctual: Be punctual for all classes. Complete class coverage as needed. If absence from work is necessary, contact supervisor immediately so classes can be covered.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following:

· Bachelor’s preferred

· At least 1 year in residential care or in an educational setting

· The ability to secure a satisfactory criminal record check

· The ability to secure a satisfactory ChildLine clearance

· The ability to secure satisfactory reference

· Organized and dependable

· Self-Starter

· Strong interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
