Sales Support Director establishes the sales support process, develops an infrastructure of systems and tools, and directs support operations. Develops and implements promotional events to increase sales volume. Additionally, Sales Support Director may provide oversight of sales incentive or commission programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Sales Support Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.       Job Summary
      The Director of Student Support is responsible for leading the implementation and supervision of the K-12 school counseling program and integrated school-based mental health services within a multi-tiered system of support. The director collaborates with leaders from other departments around Anchorage School Board goals and guardrails, with an emphasis on the College, Career, Life (CCL) ready goal and the mental health services guardrail. The director reports to and is evaluated by the senior director of Mental Health and Student Supports. This position has a retirement association with the Alaska Teacher Employee Retirement System (TRS).

      Job Requirements
      The following is required:
      • A master’s degree in counseling or related field such as psychology or social work.
      • A valid Alaska type B administrative certificate.
      • A minimum of three years of experience as a counselor or related mental health provider in K-12 education.
      • A minimum of three years of administrative experience.

      The following are preferred:
      • Experience with staff supervision and coaching.
      • Experience in the development and implementation of staff training/professional development.
      • Evidence of exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills.
      • Experience delivering services within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).
      • Knowledge of and experience with college, career, and life ready implementation.
      • Knowledge and skills in culturally responsive, restorative, and trauma informed practices.
      • Strong organizational management skills such as organizing, planning, leading, and coordinating resources with the overall aim of achieving its objectives.

      Essential Job Functions
      • Provides leadership in guiding social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health services to best meet student needs and district goals and guardrails.
      • Supervises the K-12 school counseling program.
      • Provides instructional leadership and technical support to mental health and student support staff and school teams.
      • Collaborates with district leadership to develop and implement college, career, and life ready supports.
      • Coordinates with community behavioral health agencies on workflows, training, and problem solving for the integration of community behavioral health providers in ASD schools.
      • Oversees and guides the implementation and professional development of department supported programs and services.
      • Monitors district and school data to inform decision making and student outcomes.
      • Keeps current on research and best practices around social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health supports.
      • Assists administration in supervising and evaluating department staff.
      • Administers budgetary procedures, memorandums of agreement (MOAs), and systems for general funds and grants.
      • Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
      • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

      Physical /Mental Demands
      The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs. Additionally, the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, be able to readily recall facts and details, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. The employee must have the ability to effectively manage the stress of working with students, parents, and other employees representing diverse cultures, personalities, and work styles in a dynamic work environment.
