Position Title: Director of Social Services (SS)
Reports To: COO
Direct Reports: Coordinator / S.S. Team
Job Status: Full-Time / Exempt
Description of this role: Responsible for providing leadership to the Social Services Team. This includes the managing, planning and completion of activities related to the monitoring, documenting, and reporting of the social services activities of the organization.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities - includes the following and other related duties may be assigned.
· Review and possess a working knowledge of all grants related to the Social Services Department.
· Prepare reports for grant funded activities and programs.
· Identify and develop additional resources to support agency and/or program goals via grants, curriculum enhancements, etc.
· Manage the day-to-day duties and documentation of the Social Services Coordinators
o Inclusive of the on-going case management of social services team.
o Completion and distribution of Class Roster and monitor recruiting efforts of the SS Team.
· Develop and/or facilitate staff trainings and in-service education specific to SS team.
· Prepare reports for and participate in staff meetings, facilitate SS team and Case Management meetings.
· Approve the development, selection of topics, programs, and outside speakers as necessary.
· Utilize community resources and social support systems, to assist the team in aiding clients with reaching their goal of self-sufficiency.
· Attend community meetings with funders and/or partners as it relates to social services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Must be able to empathize with clients and have a desire to work to meet FFSC’s goals and mission.
· Must be able to successfully manage a team and provide positive role model leadership to promote success.
· Must be able to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals.
· Must be team oriented and able to work independently.
· Must be familiar with MS Office, Teams, Data Reporting, and understand grants and budgets.
· Must be knowledgeable of budget fulfillment, preparation, projecting and forecasting.
· Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local funding and programmatic reporting.
· Must understand and practice the NASW (National Association of Social Workers) Code of Ethics.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
· Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or management preferred. Bachelor’s degree in related field in combination with experience may be sufficient.
· Must have at least 5 years in social work capacity, plus previous management/leadership experience.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.
