    The Director of Family Support Services is responsible for the oversight of multiple home-visitation and parenting programs, including the management of programs and program staff, compliance with all contractual, financial and data collection, as well as forging and maintaining professional collaborations with partner agencies and social service providers in the communities we serve to ensure consistent and quality delivery of services. Additionally, this position monitors contractual requirements and budgets to ensure accountability for the programs in their charge, participates in the quality assurance process, and routinely attends meetings with funders and stakeholders.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee all aspects of the programs assigned to this position and assure contractual and fidelity requirements are met with respective funders (Department of Child Safety, First Things First) and evidence-based service models (Family Connections, Parents as Teachers)
    • Actively represent Easterseals Blake Foundation (EBF) in the community and liaise with provider agencies, businesses, schools, civic groups, funders, chambers and more to establish and/or strengthen mutually beneficial relationships that forward the mission of EBF
    • Be available for on-call questions/concerns afterhours or on the weekends, demonstrate willingness to support staff after hours as needed 
    • Facilitate recruitment and retention of qualified employees, including but not limited to completing interviews and completing onboarding requirements as directed by Human Resources (HR)
    • Provide direct supervision and training, mentoring, Reflective Supervision, evaluation of staff, and disciplinary action when warranted
    • Attend all required internal and external meetings and relay pertinent information to assigned staff members on essential information and upcoming training opportunities
    • Facilitate program level staff meetings to disseminate information, oversight, and case presentations when required
    • Adhere to and promote others adhering to all program, operational and personnel policies and procedures
    • Participate in Quality Assurance activities, as well as participate in ongoing program planning and development
    • Assist in the development of and monitor financials of each program, including regular review with the Chief Community Programs Officer (CCPO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) 
    • Participate in committees assigned within the Blake Children and Family (BCF) services department, as well as EBF at large
    • Travel and be accessible to assigned EBF locations and participate in community events throughout Southern Arizona
    • Ensure services are provided in a culturally responsive manner
    • Provide leadership in program and budgetary operations, civic and philanthropic activities, and team building for EBF’s personnel across Southern Arizona
    • Serve on local and statewide policy development, collaborative, and advocacy committees
    • As part of a team and in conjunction with the Grants Specialist, prepare well-written and well-documented proposals, grant applications, and supporting documents in response to public and private grant opportunities and ensure timely delivery of proposals per funder requirements
    • As part of a team and in conjunction with the Grants Specialist and Chief Financial Officer, develop budgets for a project or program for which funding is sought; make recommendations for budget presentations to grant-making organizations
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with program participants, staff, colleagues, programs and state agencies
    • Submit accurate and complete paperwork, including proof-reading for correct grammar, spelling and format
    • Maintain agreed upon work schedule, be punctual, keep appointments, and use time effectively
    • Use supervision effectively, accept feedback in a professional manner, and accept responsibility for job performance
    • Attend required professional development opportunities and maintain knowledge of current research and effective approaches
    • Understand and maintain private and sensitive information within the confines of need-to-know parameters
    • Conduct general administrative functions, as assigned
    • Other duties as assigned

    Comply with State, Federal and Other Relevant Regulation/Requirements

    • Report suspected neglect/abuse to the Department of Child Safety (DCS) and supervisor, complete required documentation
    • Comply with privacy laws and requirements under HIPAA and FERPA regulations
    • Follow all safety procedures required by EBF

    • A working knowledge of the impact of domestic violence, sexual abuse, child neglect, and substance abuse on families and children
    • An understanding of reflective, family-centered practice
    • A familiarity with family and child assessment best practices
    • An ability to teach others using anticipatory guidance, modeling, coaching, reflection, and role-play
    • An ability to acknowledge, respect, and build upon the diversity of families with regard to such factors as race, ethnicity, family constellation, gender, socioeconomic status, values, and traditions
    • An in-depth knowledge of the federal and state statutes which govern assigned programs
    • Effective communication and collaboration with community and state agencies
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Detail-oriented with well-developed problem-solving skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex information
    • Skilled in observation, listening, interviewing, assessment, coaching, and group facilitation
    • Writing and reviewing documentation, including service plans, progress reviews, and assessments
    • Ability to travel to area offices across Southern Arizona

    Requirements

    Education and Experience –

    • Bachelor’s degree in a human service field, early childhood education, public administration or other related field and 10 years management experience OR
    • Master’s Degree in a human service field, early childhood education, public administration or other related field and a minimum of five years of management experience 


    Regulatory Requirements:

    • Minimum 21 years of age
    • Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
    • Current valid, unrestricted driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that meets the standards of the agency

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to:
    • Remain in a stationary position
    • Operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment
    • Stoop, squat, reach, stretch, ascend, and descend stairs
    • Type and write for extended periods of time

    Psychological Requirements:

    • Must be able to work in an extremely stressful environment where there are considerable mental and emotional demands

    • Must be able to adapt to diverse cultural environments and communicate in a culturally inclusive manner
    • Must be able to represent Easterseals Blake Foundation in a professional manner in all situations

    Working Conditions:

    • Requires individual to be highly engaged to perform the daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Requires extensive typing and writing.
