Position Summary
Points North, the leading software company in the compliance and reporting space, is seeking a highly technical Business Analyst to join its growing team. The Business Analyst will work collaboratively with software engineers, QA, and stakeholders to provide solutions and ensure the software meets quality and performance standards set forth according to acceptance criteria. The Business Analyst will refine high level business requirements into features and user stories. A successful candidate is highly organized, can adjust priorities while paying great attention to detail, and will be able to demonstrate how their past success will transfer to Points North and how they will thrive in a growing, agile, and fast-paced company.
Key Responsibilities
· Analyze root cause(s) of business issues and develop appropriate resolutions.
· Integrate research, team ideas, and client feedback into solution requirements.
· Prioritize and execute work items according to business value.
· Act as liaison between internal and external partners.
· Create user stories from high level business requirements.
· Develop use case scenarios for user acceptance testing process.
· Develop and author test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
· Identify and maintain high quality documentation while supporting areas of responsibility.
· Provide support as a project team member as needed.
· Maintain a log of completed and ongoing system changes.
· Partner directly with stakeholders to implement solutions to process defects.
· Utilize feedback to improve products and processes.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
· A bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience)
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis
· A minimum of 3 years of experience creating user stories from high level requirements
· Construction Accounting/Labor Cost Payroll experience preferred
· API management experience preferred
· Broad experience in software development and testing
