Sarbanes Oxley Analyst implements and coordinates an organization's auditing strategy and activities for regulatory compliance. Deploys internal controls, best practices, and strategies to identify process deficiencies and implement improvements. Being a Sarbanes Oxley Analyst gathers, analyzes, and consolidates data for required regulatory reporting to fulfill content and scheduling requirements. Supports external regulatory inspections and internal audits and may coordinate document reviews, protocol reviews, validation reviews, and training programs as part of auditing processes. Additionally, Sarbanes Oxley Analyst maintains and updates a knowledge base or information system of the financial regulations, required processes, and industry/regulatory agency standards that govern a business or a product. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Sarbanes Oxley Analyst work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Position Summary:

    Assists in design, development and implementation of new or enhanced solutions for Revenue Cycle processes in support of software system implementations, upgrades and optimization projects.  Delivers resolutions for business process changes for information systems projects.  Identifies opportunities for business process improvement and initiates improvement projects with or without deploying information technology.

    Position Key Accountabilities:

    1. Analyzes current Revenue Cycle processes, works with the business to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes. Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to understand their problems and needs. Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information and evaluating requirements.
    2. Conducts business systems analysis, process flow modeling, and process improvement.  Analyzes business processes and studies system capabilities of existing information systems.  Interviews stakeholders, end users, and subject matter experts for fact-finding and requirement gathering. Maps existing business processes. Creates, analyzes, and validates detailed functional specifications. Documents existing business processes and business rules. Identifies the current and future-state business processes. Constructs Visio charts and diagrams for workflows.
    3. Prepares business cases and assists with cost/benefit analysis for proposed solutions.
    4. Facilitates the design of new solutions and optimizations that support business processes.  Works with business partners, system architects, and training to design, modify, test, and implement new or improved business processes or modification to systems. The analyst solves business problems and, as needed, participates in the design of technical solutions.
    5. Performs reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports. Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support recommendations. Actively participates in the implementation of approved changes. Helps the business stakeholders envision the future and how their work will need to change to support systems in the future.
    6. Actively participates in development of organizational change and implementation plans. Analyzes impacts on training and organizational changes.  Ability to design training materials.  Ability to train users on new procedures and systems.
    7. Communicates process or system changes via oral and written communications including presentations.
    8. Communicates project objectives and status to project sponsors and stakeholders.  Communicates with project teams and constituencies.
    9. Conducts post implementation reviews, provides support and documents goal attainment.
    10. Conducts periodic reviews of Revenue Cycle system master files and automation opportunities.
    11. Maintains knowledge of future enhancements. Participates in vendor or customer led presentations regarding system updates, issues and optimization opportunities and communicates relevant findings.
    12. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Certification/Skills:

    Experience with PMI, Six Sigma or IIBA standards preferred.

    Advanced Microsoft Office skills

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Strong analytical problem-solving skills

    Detail oriented

    Highly collaborative

    Intermediate experience managing revenue cycle or IT projects

    Experience with Epic or other EHR strongly preferred

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Healthcare Administration preferred

    Minimum Experience:

    Four (4) years of experience designing, building, training or implementing business solutions or leading teams or projects to optimize revenue cycle performance using information technology.

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

    Security Sensitive:

    This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

    Residency Requirement:

    Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
