Sarbanes Oxley Director directs programs, policies, and practices to ensure the organization is in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Oversees development and testing of internal controls regarding the reporting financial results. Being a Sarbanes Oxley Director contributes to the development of organization-wide SOX compliance strategies, identifying process deficiencies and recommending improvements as necessary. Oversees the reporting of test results to top management. Additionally, Sarbanes Oxley Director may develop and conduct compliance training for employees. The Sarbanes Oxley Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.     Director

    Qualifications:BA and Washington State Teachers Certificate helpful but not required. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply. Experience and training in Early Childhood Education are required. The person hired must have completed CPR, First Aid, HIV/AIDS training, a negative TB test, and a Washington State Food Handlers Card—evidence of emotional maturity and ability to seek supervision and use it constructively. STARS Training is required. The person must be committed, punctual, dependable, willing to adhere to all school policies, and able to follow directions. Training on school curriculum, policies, and acceptable discipline styles will be provided.

    Responsible for, but not limited to, gearing the program to the needs of the individual child, with concern for unique talents, handicaps, and individual style and pace of learning. Must pass a background check.

    Job Description

    ¨ Reports to CEO/Executive Director and COO or designee.

    ¨ Collaborates with the Director of Operations

    ¨ Participate in the management team developing practices ensuring quality service delivery.

    ¨ Recruit and enroll families and their children into the RUA program.

    ¨ Review and update program operations, including office procedures, registration, record keeping, pricing controls, and program evaluations.

    ¨ Performs supervisory functions in hiring and orienting program professionals and volunteers, as directed by CEO & COO.

    ¨ Ensure a 2-week supply of groceries is always on hand.

    ¨ Evaluate and develop risk management procedures for staff, children, and the center.

    ¨ Maintains complete and accurate records and submits reports on time.

    ¨ Attends board meetings, presenting current center activities to members as requested.

    ¨ Cultivate fundamental relations with schools, agencies, and public officials to enhance future program development.

    ¨ Maintains Department of Transportation records and updates.

    ¨ Performs cross-functional duties as needed and approved by management. Examples supervising children and participating in the after-school program.

    Payroll

    ¨ Time clock: gather appropriate documentation of all employee's working hours and;

    ¨ Preparing Excel Spreadsheet for bookkeeper

    ¨ Get approval for payroll

    ¨ Submit to book keeper

    Monitor employee vacation and sick leave, by approving requests and making sure of appropriate coverage.

    Meal counts

    ¨ Provide meal count sheets for weekly attendance.

    ¨ Report to CACFP attendance records of meal count monthly.

    ¨ The Program Supervisor will monitor the meal count daily to make sure that the attendance and the meal count is correct by the end of every week for the Director’s report on Monday.

    ¨ If there are any discrepancy with Meal Counts work with the COO and/or Program Supervisor for corrections before any information is put out on GroupMe.

    CACFP

    ¨ Maintaining current meal counts and information on the WINNS portal as regards to the CACFP program.

    ¨ Providing documentation and gathering information as requested by CACFP

    Menu Planning

    ¨ Following CACFP guidelines to prepare appropriate menu’s for the cooks preparation.

    ¨ Ordering from Costco and Walmart every week the needs of the kitchen and the school

    ¨ Making sure there is a 2 week supply of food on hand in case of an emergency

    As needed and when available work as a support staff to the school, only in urgent circumstances.

    Enrollment

    ¨ Touring and providing orientation to prospective enrollees and their families regarding policies and procedures and ensuring a greater understanding of RUA academy’s academic excellence and rigor. Children and Families must meet Program COO, Program Supervisor and/or Curriculum Specialist before child is enrolled. Please coordinate with their schedules.

    ¨ Ensure that the enrollment packet has been filled out appropriately.

    ¨ Once family is enrolled; enter information into Brightwheel

    ¨ Create a billing plan if needed.

    ¨ Maintain student files.

    ¨ Implement student information in RUA student contact sheet google doc.

    ¨ Report information and start date of student to the Program supervisor and Curriculum Specialist through email and group me. The Program Supervisor and Curriculum Specialist will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the child’s placement.

    Brightwheel

    ¨ Maintaining all records and billing information in the Brightwheels system.

    ¨ Monitoring payments of tuition and notifying families of late payments or discrepancies.

    ¨ Work with Program Supervisor to communicate with Parents, when necessary, upon approval from COO or CEO

    DCYF Childcare Subsidy Program

    ¨ Maintain records of students' attendance on the DCYF CCSP portal for appropriate billing information.

    ¨ Providing information as requested or required by DCYF

    Department of Licensing

    ¨ Maintaining all records as it pertains to licensing requirements

    ¨ Meet with the Licensor as needed.

    ¨ Report to the appropriate Department heads on any work orders or changes that need to be made within the school regarding the licensing requirement.

    ¨ Maintain records of staff in MERIT account. Ensuring that all staff are kept up to date on yearly training.

    Maintaining staff files.

    Before any information is suggested or introduced to the staff or school it must be given to the CEO or COO first for approval.

    Ensure that the Employee Handbook/Manual is up to date, collaborate with COO.

    Ensure center facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.

    Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies. Make sure all requests are approved by the COO and CEO.

    Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development, coordinate and confirm with COO.

    Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new staff members, as needed per CEO and COO.
