Sarbanes Oxley Manager manages an organization's auditing strategy and activities for regulatory compliance. Develops and implements internal controls, best practices, and strategies to identify process deficiencies and implement improvements. Being a Sarbanes Oxley Manager prepares for and participates in external regulatory inspections and internal audits. Ensures that all required regulatory reporting meets content and scheduling requirements. Additionally, Sarbanes Oxley Manager incorporates document reviews, protocol reviews, validation reviews, and training programs as part of auditing processes. Maintains an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge base of the financial regulations, required processes, and industry/regulatory agency standards that govern a business or a product. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Sarbanes Oxley Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Job Description


    This position functions as a professional social worker providing services to vulnerable individuals. Responsibilities may involve one or more of the following programs administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS): Adult Protective Services, Adult Community Placement and Independent Living Services.

    This position is being filled as limited term, with the possibility to be converted to permanent.

    Required Education and Experience

    Education
    Possession of a bachelor's or master's degree with a major in one of the following human services areas: social work, sociology, psychology, forensic psychology, interdisciplinary studies in social science, education, community development, law enforcement, behavioral science, gerontology, special education, education of the emotionally disturbed, education of the gifted, family ecology, community services, family studies, family and/or child development, counseling psychology, criminal justice, human services, or in a human services-related counseling major.
    OR
    Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the following human services areas: social work, sociology, psychology, forensic psychology, interdisciplinary studies in social science, education, community development, law enforcement, behavioral science, gerontology, special education, education of the emotionally disturbed, education of the gifted, family ecology, community services, family studies, family and/or child development, counseling psychology, criminal justice, human services, or in a human services-related counseling major.

    Services Specialist 9

    Services Specialist 10
    One year of professional experience providing casework services to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals equivalent to a Services Specialist 9.

    Services Specialist P11
    Two years of professional experience providing casework services to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals equivalent to a Services Specialist, including one year equivalent to a Services Specialist 10.

    Services Specialist 12
    This is the advanced level. The employee may function as a lead or senior worker. At this level, employees are responsible for overseeing the work assignments of other professionals or have regular assignments which have been recognized by Civil Service as having significantly greater complexity than those assigned at the experienced level.

    Position Locations: The office location for this position is at 19340 Greenview Avenue, Suite 200 Detroit, MI 48219, however, this position has the ability to work hybrid (combination of remote and office).     Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

    Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
