New York Senator’s office is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable person to join their team. The Scheduler manages the Senator’s calendar and ensures everything runs smoothly in our busy Albany State Capitol office.
The Scheduler regularly meets with the Senator and/or Chief of Staff to review requests and consistently updates the calendar for the Senator and staff in the District Office. This person maintains positive communications with staff, local organizations, non-profits, lobbying firms and constituents. In our office, the Scheduler is our go-to person when we need to know what’s going on and when.
Below are the primary responsibilities of this role:
- Manage the Senator’s schedule including meetings, events, conferences, travel planning, interviews, and appearances so the Senator knows where to go and when
- Review all incoming meeting requests, invitations, etc. via phone, mail and email and collect any necessary background information to effectively relay requests to the Senator
- Meet with the Senator regularly to discuss requests, review the schedule, and troubleshoot any potential scheduling conflicts to make sure important engagements are included
- Ensure everything in the office runs smoothly by assigning meetings and events to appropriate staff members when needed and preparing staff/the Senator with important information such as directions, meeting materials and zoom links
- RSVP to events on time and share the names of event honorees to the designated staff member to create citations
- Spread awareness of significant community events by sharing the information with staff to promote on the Senator’s social media accounts
- Respond to inevitable changes with flexibility and maintain positive communications with office contacts
Salary range is $38,000 to $42,000, commensurate with education and experience.
This is not a Civil Service position and this recruitment will remain open until filled.
