Position Title: School Nurse

Brief Description: Will support the health service delivery throughout the district under the direction of the Director of Health Services & Wellness and the Medical Director. Provide guidance for assessment of and/or referral of acute or chronic illnesses, injuries, or emergencies of students in an educational setting. Provides support for initiatives that incorporate health promotion, disease prevention or detection, health counseling, health education, and consultation. Fulfill school nurse responsibilities at their own school building.

Required Qualifications:

• Eligibility for a license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Possession of the license at the time of appointment. 

• Desire and capability to work with children from 3 years old to 21 years old; 

• Ability to work independently; make critical medical/clinical decisions (within bounds of a nursing license); ability to understand and interpret complex written and verbal instructions; meticulous attention to detail; impeccable professional credentials; exceptional level of professionalism and positive attitude.

Salary Range: $33.59/hr. in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement
