Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to students and ensuring their well-being during school hours. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their overall health and safety.

Position Specifics:

• Provide medical care and assistance to students in accordance with established protocols and guidelines
• Conduct health screenings, including vision and hearing tests
• Assess and evaluate students' health conditions and provide appropriate care
• Administer medication to students as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation
• Maintain accurate medical records for each student, including immunization records and medical history
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs
• Monitor the overall health and wellness of the school community, identifying potential health concerns or outbreaks
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, such as hygiene practices and disease prevention
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support when necessary
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality

Position Requirements:

• Valid nursing license in [STATE]
• Proven experience as a nurse in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical systems and documentation practices
• Proficient in patient assessment techniques and medical record keeping
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and dosage calculations
• Sound understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and common childhood illnesses
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Basic life support (BLS) certification is required
• Experience administering injections is highly desirable

Desired Start Date: July 2024 (this includes significant training for this new campus)
