School Nurse jobs in San Bernardino, CA

We are in need of a licensed nurse to join our crew of outdoor educators as they work to open the eyes of city based kids to the wonders and beauty of nature. You'll talk with students, distribute medications, identify and treat illnesses and injuries, and work with our teachers and staff.

LOCATION: near Big Bear Lake, CA
REQUIREMENTS: RN License, good computer skills, ability to hike 3 miles.

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES

• Provide health/safety care and medication distribution to elementary-aged students during their school field trips to our outdoor education facility in the national forest.
• Communicate with schools and parents before their field trip to plan out health and medication management.
• Provide educational inservices to our instructional team to aid them in becoming better health caregivers.
• Assist in management and leadership of 25 staff at one of our two camp facilities.
• Monday through Thursday: 10:45am – 8:45pm, Friday: 7:30am – 5pm
• School holidays off - this is 1 week at Thanksgiving, 3 weeks over Christmas, and 1 week at Spring Break.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Compensation package is estimated at $55,000 for September through May. (Currently hiring for Feb-May with the option to extend contract to future school years.)

• 34 work weeks, 5 paid weeks off, 5 paid Mondays off; approximately 165 work days.
• Salary of $3700 a month for 9 months: $33,300.
• 100% coverage in company health care plan after 90 days ($450/month) or health care stipend of $200/month: $4,050.
• Cell Phone / Laptop Stipend of $50 month: $450.
• Single room in company housing. Utilities are not covered. $9,000.
• Board when program in session. Meals: Lunch & Dinner on first day of program; Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner on full program days; Breakfast & Lunch on last day of program. Based on $7 per meal, 2.5 meals a work day average. 165 work days x $17.5=$2,887.
• Eligible to be part of the company bonus program. ($5,500)
• Payday is the 1st of every month.
