Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates to serve in the capacity of a School Nurse at the Thomas E. Bowe Middle School. This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
QUALIFICATIONS: New Jersey School Nurse Certification. Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice. Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues; and wellness education. Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO: School Physician, Principal, Director of Special Education
JOB GOAL/MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
To promote health and safety in the school environment and provide health services to students, faculty, and staff; to assist with the teaching of sound health practices.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time, ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
