DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRINCIPAL
The Principal is responsible for the total administration of the school. Certain areas of responsibility are delegated to the Assistant Principals; final responsibility, however, rests with the Principal. He will direct particular attention to policy determination, faculty administration, public relations, office personnel, buildings and grounds, unit budget, and approval of all orders and services. He is responsible for the curriculum.
Some of the Principal's more important duties and responsibilities are:
Administers the operations of the school.
Organization of the school.
Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board Policies and Regulations by the school's staff and students.
Development and implementation of the education program. Improvement of the curriculum and of the curriculum materials used.
Supervises the school staff, providing assistance making evaluations as per Board policy. Supervision of the instructional program.
Supervision of student accounting, records, and reports.
Selection, retention, promotion, and assignment of the clerical and teaching personnel. Evaluation of outcomes.
