Being a School Principal ensures all school activities are within budgetary guidelines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, School Principal typically reports to a superintendent. May require a master's degree. The School Principal typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. DESCRIPTION:
1. Successful experience in education, including teaching, supervision and /or building
administration. Building principal experience is preferred.
2. Graduate work beyond the Masters Degree with emphasis on curriculum, instruction,
supervision and administration.
3. A valid New York State Certificate as a School Building Leader or Administrator,
SBL/SAS and/or SDL/SDA.
4. Strong communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and human relation skills.
5. Administrative experiences in the areas of curriculum, instruction and staff development.
6. Experience effectively working with parents, teachers and administrators.
7. Philosophical compatibility with the stated mission and beliefs of the school district.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Final salary determination will be commensurate with the administrative education and experience of candidates.
