    ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

    2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR

    SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: To Assist the Elementary School principal in providing leadership to organize, administer, supervise, and evaluate the school program. Primary responsibilities will be coordinating disciplinary programming, evaluating teachers, and supporting the elementary school principal. This position will commence on July 1, 2024

    REPORTS TO: Elementary School Principal and Superintendent

    COMPENSATION: $77,000 to $82,000 annually

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have at least five years of teaching experience.
    • Must hold a Master’s degree or above in education.
    • Must hold a current administrative certificate.
    • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to work as part of a team.
    • Must have experience working with at-risk students and their parents.
    • Must have knowledge and experience in school improvement/MiCIP
    • Must receive a satisfactory response to P.A. 189 Letter. (Misconduct Law)
    • Must satisfactorily pass:
      • Law enforcement background check with fingerprinting;
      • Personal and professional reference background check.
    • Must possess or be willing to complete training in Restorative Justice Practices, CPI Certification, and Adult/Infant/CPR/First Aid Certified.
    • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Consistently and fairly discipline students using the restorative justice model in conjunction with the student handbook and district policies.
    • Must be able to develop and successfully implement programs that address chronic absenteeism and provide parent education.
    • Support and strengthen the positive behavioral support system in the building.
    • Provide support and work with the staff to implement effective classroom management practices.
    • Must be able to attend, supervise, and lead night events.
    • Must be able to develop and successfully implement programs that support family engagement.
    • Must be able to lift and assist students when necessary.
    • Must be self-directed and self-motivated.
    • Must be highly organized, flexible, and able to multitask.
    • Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students, and administration.
    • Ability to develop and lead a team to effectively implement building-level programs and policies.
    • Ability to assist the principal in the administration of school and district policies.
    • Ability to assist with monitoring and evaluating teaching staff using the Danielson Model.
    • Ability to assist with compliance with state and federal mandates.
    • Ability to keep all student and parent information confidential.
    • Ability to keep a positive attitude when working with students, parents, and staff members who visit Carrollton Public Schools facilities or programs.
    • Must be proficient in using the internet for research.
    • Shall be of good character with high moral and ethical values.
    • To ensure a safe environment for students at all times.
    • To meet and greet visitors in a positive, helpful manner.
    • Other duties as assigned by the building principal/superintendent.
