Position Description:
The West Seneca Central School District Board of Education announces a confidential search for its Superintendent of Schools. The Board is seeking an educational leader committed to open-minded, collaborative leadership and a proven record of soliciting input from stakeholders. Approximately 5,903 attend five elementary buildings, two middle schools and two high schools. The District provides a strong comprehensive academic program with a commitment to interscholastic athletics and instruction in the visual and performing arts.

The District’s four-year graduation rate consistently exceeds 90% with close to 45% of graduates regularly receiving a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation. Both District high schools offer eight advanced placement and twenty-one dual enrollment courses as well as nationally recognized Academy programs including Academies of Business and Finance, IT/Digital Media, Visual Arts, Life Science, and Engineering.

The District provides a robust special education program including a full local continuum of services for children and is committed to fostering the well-being and supporting the mental health needs of both students and staff. The District serves as a community hub and offers a rich and responsive community education program to meet the needs of a diverse population.

The District will offer a contract with a minimum three-year term commensurate with the preparation, qualifications, experience, and record of accomplishments of the successful candidate.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

• A valid NYS School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification.
• Successful experience as a teacher, counselor and/ or other school-based educational professional.
• A demonstrated record of successful experience as a public school administrator. Experience as a Superintendent and a school-building leader is preferred.
• A clearly articulated vision of high-quality schooling that promotes rich experiences for every student.
• Proven experience in the facilitation of strategic planning processes that establish District priorities, short/long-term goals and the use of data to make decisions.
• Success in the development and use of clearly defined systems and processes for completing important District work.
• Experience in building a committed, responsive District leadership team.
• Strong understanding of the principles guiding successful human resource, budget and facilities management.
• Willingness to maintain a consistently strong presence in the district’s school buildings and a commitment to be the face and voice of the entire school community.

Salary Range:
Minimum salary of $225,000.00
