Position Description:
The Elmsford Union Free School District, is located in the heart of Westchester County. The central location is approximately 30 minutes from New Jersey, Connecticut and New York City. The commute friendly location coupled with the small yet resourceful structure is a prime opportunity for a well-seasoned Superintendent to provide short term management of an outstanding school district. The Interim Superintendent of Schools will provide sound leadership and guidance to the Board, staff and community, while seeing to the day to day needs of the district the Interim will be asked to continue recruitment efforts for several key positions as well as see to a smooth transition once a permanent Superintendent is identified. The district includes one grade Pre-K – 1 primary school; one grade 2-6 elementary school; one grade 7-12 middle/high school. The district serves approximately 1,000 students and has an operating budget of just over $40 million dollars.

Qualifications:

• NYS School Administrator Certificate (SDL/SDA) or reciprocity application pending
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent of Schools
• Minimum of twenty (20) years combined experience as a superintendent of schools, assistant superintendent of schools, district level administrator, building administrator and teacher
• Ability to commit to the district until June 30, 2024
• Proven record of increasing learning outcomes for all students
• Educational leadership to unite and build consensus, with strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
• Knowledge of school finance and budget process
• Experience in executing capital projects on district facilities
• Experience in evaluating the impact of educational programs and district services
• A demonstrated commitment to parent and community engagement
• A demonstrated record of success in engaging community partners
• Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative

Salary Range:
$240K-$270K
