Job Description:

Our client is currently looking for an Environmental Scientist with experience with soil/water sampling to help support their team, and support FDEP Petroleum Program.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 2 years experience as a Environmental Technician OR 1 years of experience with a degree
• FDEP Petroleum Program experience highly preferred
• Have to be able to travel around Jacksonville area - sometimes can go to Gainesville, Tallahassee, GA etc. Overnights rare.
• HAZWOPER required
• OSHA 40 required
• Ability to learn very fast and work long hours on the field
• Enthusiastic and ready to learn

Nice to have:

• Experience with remedial systems
• Field implementation

Duties:

• Soil sampling
• Ground water monitoring
• Well installation
• Collecting samples
• Subcontractor oversight

Work Environment:

• 100% field work
• Mostly gas stations

Selling Points:

• Provided company vehicle - flexible on taking home and back to office, can change due to travel they are doing.
• Gas card provided. Toll card provided.
• Potential to grow into Scientist II
