Roles & responsibilities
· Reports directly to Principal Scientist.
· Supports laboratory activities pertaining to resin product development and implementation.
· Formulates chemistry for new product development, following all SOPs.
· Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis.
· Assists and prepares fiber reinforcements as needed for product innovation.
· Communicates experimental findings, project updates, and technical insights in a clear manner.
· Participates significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
· Participates in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
· Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
· Undertakes further training to improve skills.
· Treats others with respect, empathy, and kindness.
· Upholds our company values and missions.
· May require some travel (<30%).
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related with ≥1 year of industrial experience
· Or: Master’s degree in Chemistry or related
· Or: Other degree ≥5 years of industry relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
· Independent research experience in an organic chemistry lab or similar
· Experience with Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) and Universal Testing Machine (UTM i.e. Instron/MARK-10) & other polymer chemistry techniques
· Knowledge of polymer and materials science
· Data analysis (Excel, R, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
