A leading digital streaming network is seeking a The Linear Playout & Distribution (LP&D) Scrum Master (SM). The successful candidate will be responsible for applying best practices and advocating for the use of tools such as Jira. The ideal candidate has 5 years of established experience in a scrum master role. The company offers a great work environment!

The Linear Playout & Distribution (LP&D) Scrum Master (SM) Pay and Benefits:

• Hourly pay: $80/hr
• Worksite: Leading digital streaming network (Hauppauge, NY 11788 - Hybrid, Wednesdays in office)
• W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
• 40 hours/week, 9 Month Assignment

The Linear Playout & Distribution (LP&D) Scrum Master (SM) Responsibilities:

• Liaise with VPs, Directors, Team leads, Project Managers and Engineering teams.
• Establish structure, driving results, and reporting team status across the portfolio.
• Apply best practices, coach and advocate for the use of tools such as Jira.
• Coach team members in hybrid agile frameworks.
• Standardize processes and data gathering across teams.
• Provide clear direction of tasks for the delivery team.
• Enable teams to meet to discuss dependencies and work out issues at a scrum level.
• Prioritize and plan workload across future sprints and set clear deliverables in Jira that align with project milestones.
• Schedule weekly refinement sessions with key team members to plan forthcoming sprints.
• Review the waterline for projects and add new stories for specific projects as they are established across future sprints.
• Prioritize stories based on capacity and project delivery timescales.

The Linear Playout & Distribution (LP&D) Scrum Master (SM) Qualifications:

• 5 years of established experience in a Scrum Master role.
• 5 years of experience with Jira – creating dashboards, JQL, filters, Jira Plan.
  
• 2 strong Excel skills (analytics, pivot tables, formulas, etc)
  
• 2 years of experience in a Major Consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  
• 2 years of experience in a Major Consulting firm is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with non-software development teams to deliver program and project deliverables.
• Experience in working in a broadcast environment, delivering non-software development projects highly desired.
• Experience in working in a broadcast environment is highly desired.
• Execution of agile methodologies and the Scrum framework.
• Team coaching and development.
• Jira expert utilizing Jira query language (JQL) to create filters, dashboards and Jira plan.
• Amazing communication skills to be diplomatic, motivational and build strong relationships.
• Agile Practices and Framework Knowledge: A deep understanding of agile methodologies and the Scrum framework is fundamental. (such as definition of done, user stories, backlog refinement, scrum of scrum).
• Facilitation and Coaching Abilities: Scrum Masters must have Agile coaching experience, excel in guiding teams through Scrum events and decision-making processes. They act as coaches for the development team, and the organization. Effective facilitation empowers collaboration, self-organization, and solution-finding within the team.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication is the cornerstone of a Scrum Master’s role. Interacting with stakeholders, including the development team, and other project members, requires clear expression and active listening.
• In-Depth Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Principles: A thorough understanding of the Scrum framework, roles (development team, Scrum Master), processes (sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews), and ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives) is essential.
• Problem-Solving Skills: As a Scrum Master, you’ll encounter obstacles and impediments. Your role involves identifying and removing these hurdles to ensure project progress.
• Possess strong communication, diplomatic and motivational skills to coordinate people, projects (facilitating change) with a mind set on deliverables.
• Proven success in establishing structure and governance around complex multifaceted initiatives.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
• Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
• Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
