Facilitates sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives. Additionally, Scrum Master, Sr. identifies and manages the backlog. Supports, coaches and mentors team members. Tracks daily sprint progress and maintain schedules. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Typically reports to a director. The Scrum Master, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Scrum Master in our Technology department. This position will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our software development and engineering projects while driving the adoption of Agile methodologies. The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams to foster collaboration, facilitate communication, drive continuous improvement, and remove any obstacles that may impede progress. The Scrum Master will have regular exposure to business stakeholders and will guide the development team in achieving the overall engineering direction of the Bank to support current and future needs. This is an exempt position reporting to the Director of Engineering. This position does have the ability to work hybrid or remote and will report to our Hollister Offices.


    Minimum Requirements, Activities, & Responsibilities

    Education and Experience: 

    • A college degree in a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification
    • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
    • Experience in a software development or IT environment is preferred
    • Knowledge of other Agile frameworks, such as Lean or SAFe, is a plus

    Essential Functions:

    • Serve as Montecito Bank and Trust’s expert on agile Scrum development methodologies
    • Ensure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and change management processes are followed, while continually reevaluating those processes to look for opportunities to increase productivity
    • Consult with product owners and functional leadership across departments to turn requirements into stories
    • Own product backlogs, ensuring stories are groomed, prioritized, estimated, and ready to be organized into sprints
    • Coordinate software maintenance, content changes, and updates for Bank website, including ongoing quality control, analytics
    • Support and manage workflow orchestration tools within and adjacent to the Atlassian ecosystem
    • Other activities and duties as assigned 

    Skills and Capabilities:

    • Ability to think and plan strategically while also executing tactical implementation of complex projects
    • Strong knowledge of the internet, computer software, search engines, databases, web technologies, servers and related applications
    • Solid understanding of agile methodologies and tools for managing software projects
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and customer focused communications
    • Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, web accessibility, general web functions and standards
