Seng Couture is looking for experienced seamstress and fitter to join our Alterations Team who are knowledgeable and experienced in executing alteration fittings and altering luxury item gowns to a variety of different styled gowns and fabrications. A Seng Couture fitter is also open-minded to applying and expanding their knowledge, courteous and is a team player and leader when it comes to working with fellow fitters, seamstresses, stylists, managers, and clientele. To be successful in this role, you should combine your fashion knowledge with a customer service attitude to help our clients prepare themselves for their special day.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform customized alteration fittings for clients in their wedding gowns or eveningwear luxury gowns
• Alter bridal gowns and eveningwear gowns of various embellishment, such as lace, beading, embroidery work, and heavy beadwork
• Alter bridal gowns and evening gowns of various fabrics, such as silks, mikado, satin, tulle, charmeuse, lining, stretch knit, and illusion netting
• Perform all the work assigned by the Alterations Managers
• Meet productivity standards
• Communicate supply needs to the Alterations Managers
• Ensure that the alterations studio, work areas, and all fitting areas are kept organized, clean and safe for all employees and customers
• Communicate machine or equipment repair needs to the Alterations Managers
• Maintain neat work area in the fitting areas for clients and all designated areas for fitters, including the checkout space and alterations studio

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience in performing alteration fittings
• 3 years altering bridal gowns and evening gowns
• Has worked with various fabrics, such as lace, beading, embroidery work, and heavy beadwork, silks, mikado, satin, tulle, charmeuse, lining, stretch knit, and illusion netting
• Knowledgeable in using industrial sewing machines
• Speak and write in English; bilingual is a plus
• Has reliable transportation
• Able to work on weekdays and weekends, on major federal holidays and overtime
• Responsible, punctual, and a team player
• Flexible to the needs of the company and clientele
• Has basic computer knowledge; additional training will be provided
• Proficient in garment construction techniques and sewing machine operation
• Strong knowledge of different types of fabrics and their properties
• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
