Primary responsibilities include: Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts. Overhaul and repair engines or motors; disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts; reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed; use oxygen-acetylene, electro arc-welding or similar types of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, maintain and repair engines, and oil and lubricate engine and chassis Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems.
