Being a Secondary Market Analyst creates reports and models to forecast asset performance and works with internal stakeholders to make recommendations.       Qualifications:

      Master’s degree and certification in school counseling or related field. Demonstrate an aptitude for doing the work listed below using appropriate technical, conceptual and human relations skills properly and efficiently; demonstrate the physical capability to perform assigned tasks; relate well and communicate effectively with administrators, instructional and non-instructional personnel, students, parents, mental health providers, social service agencies, and members of the community; demonstrate successful performance as an educator; provide appropriate leadership to building employees and students; temper strictness with kindness and fairness when dealing with students; adapt readily to changing situations; interpret and follow district procedures; perform assigned tasks with thoroughness, initiative and responsibility; acquire additional skills deemed necessary by the Board.


      Job Summary:
      Responsibilities include but are not limited to: counsel students in the areas of personal, social, career and academic development; assist teachers in developing sensitivity to the particular needs of individual students and in utilizing referral procedures; collect, analyze, and utilize test data and psychological assessment findings to drive decisions; advise on the selections and use of appropriate group and individual tests, measures and inventories focusing around academic progress and achievement, interest inventories, social adjustment, physical growth and development, special aptitudes and intelligence quotients or factors; assist in the educational placement of departing students; conduct group guidance activities and teach courses or provide group guidance related to career information, educational requirements and opportunities; participate in individualized education program planning and other similar activities which supplement the total guidance and counseling program objectives.

      School counselors are responsible for the development of a comprehensive school counseling program that includes individualized education, career planning and other activities necessary for a successful program. School counselors focus attention on every student’s academic, career, and personal-social development needs and collaborate with others within and outside the school to meet them.

      Major Duties & Responsibilities:
      • Monitor the academic program, attendance, and behavior of each student. Intervene as a member of the school wide team.
      • Provide individual counseling for students encountering social, emotional, personal, developmental, or academic problems; and small group counseling for students to address common concerns or develop needed skills.
      • Facilitate student career exploration, help students determine personal career goals, and provide students and their parents with resources to learn about post-secondary career preparation requirements and options.
      • Assist student in their quest for information, tests and preparation for post-secondary education aligned with their career pathway.
      • Assist in scheduling and rescheduling of students.
      • Provide developmental guidance instruction as part of the comprehensive school counseling program or as directed.
      • Collaborate with teachers to deliver developmental guidance instruction within the classroom.
      • Collaborate with teachers to improve the learning climate in each classroom.
      • Collaborate with teachers to incorporate career standards into all levels and areas of school programming.
      • Provide resources and trainings for parents and community members as directed.
      • Serve as a resource person for staff or parents in identifying appropriate community resources for therapy, help and information.
      • Facilitate successful transitions for students between schools, districts, or grade levels.
      • Meet with parents as requested to provide information about educational programming/offering.
      • Administer group or individual student assessments as requested.
      • Serve as a participating member of an instructional team.
      • Interpret assessment results to teachers in an effort to improve instruction.
      • Participate in committee efforts to develop curriculum and school procedures that positively impact the learning program.
