Secondary Market Analyst administers all secondary mortgage market duties that aid in the selling and purchasing of loans. Analyzes mortgage loan portfolios, securities, and mortgage-related investments and considers market trends and economic conditions to evaluate the risk and return of a loan sale or purchase. Being a Secondary Market Analyst creates reports and models to forecast asset performance and works with internal stakeholders to make recommendations. Complies with secondary market regulations and company protocols. Additionally, Secondary Market Analyst may require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. The Secondary Market Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Description

    Job Summary:

    Manages day to day tasks of Secondary dept. including Lock Desk and Funding. Prioritizes workload to meet changing deadlines. Great attention to detail and follows instructions. Great communicator. Adapts to changes in technology and processes. Has the ability to work both independently and cohesively, as varying job duties require.

    Responsibilities:
     
    1. Policy, procedure, job aid, and training material creation and updates.

    2. Responsible for monitoring and accepting lock and change requests via Optimal Blue in a timely manner.

    3. Responsible for monitoring and responding to incoming Lock Desk emails and calls, including but not limited to answering questions, assisting with lock and change submissions, and troubleshooting when problems arise.

    4. Maintain a high-level knowledge of loan products offered.

    5. Have a thorough working knowledge of Lock Desk policies and procedures.

    6. Train new employees on Lock Desk policies and procedures.

    7. Monitor funding request email inbox and complete funding general ledger entries in a timely and accurate manner.

    8. Research and correspond with closers and/or title companies to resolve discrepancies in closing funds sent or received, including follow-up until a resolution has been reached.

    9. Issue funding, post-closing and miscellaneous checks or wires, as requested.

    10. Responsible for reconciliation of purchased loans, including resolving any pricing discrepancies with investors.

    11. Responsible for monitoring the mortgage insurance pipeline, including activation after closing and review of expiring commitment reports.

    12. Research and resolve mortgage insurance discrepancies with insurance companies and loan servicing department.

    13. Monitor general ledger accounts and work with loan servicing and accounting to make corrections as needed.

    14. Assist with committing and delivery of loans for purchase.

    15. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

    16. Ability to prioritize day with flexibility to meet required deadlines.

    17. Understand and follow all regulatory compliance policies and procedures.

    18. Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act. 

    19. Other duties as assigned.

    Skills:
    Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, catches on quickly, works well under time constraints, follows instructions, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, ability to use web-based systems, strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, ability to perform basic math including percentages, ratios, and prorations in practical situations, demonstrated ability to solve practical problems, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently, self-motivated.

    Education/Training:
    Minimum of high school diploma

    Experience:
    2 years prior mortgage and/or accounting work experience preferred, Encompass, Optimal Blue, and/or Polly experience also preferred 

    Supervised by:
    VP/Director of Capital Markets
