Job Summary:
We are seeking a temporary Legal Secretary and/ or paralegal. This individual would provide administrative support to attorneys and legal professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the law office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Write and prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Conduct legal research and compile relevant information
- Transcribe dictations and prepare meeting minutes
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate person
- Assist with legal case management, including organizing case files and tracking deadlines
- Assist with project management tasks as assigned
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Paralegal in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in document review, proofreading, and data entry
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent research skills to gather relevant information for legal cases
- Ability to transcribe dictations accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of phone etiquette in a professional setting
- Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus
