Responds to or routes priority or confidential inquiries from external or internal sources with correspondence or other messaging on behalf of the executive. Additionally, Secretary to Chief Executive Officer creates or directs creation of reports, charts, budgets and other presentation materials for the executive. Coordinates high level projects, travel arrangements, and meetings. May plan and schedule work and direct other staff to deliver support. Has a broad knowledge and understanding of the company's operations and business objectives. Requires an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to the CEO. Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a Vice President and Chief Medical Officer to serve as the executive lead. In this role, you will lead daily operations of the hospital and partner with physicians and administrative leaders in the institute, market and shared services to deliver the strategic goals of Cleveland Clinic.
The Vice President and CMO will perform specific responsibilities that include, but are not limited to the following:
• Managing community, board and independent physician relations and access business opportunities in conjunction with or at the discretion of market or enterprise leadership.
• Setting hospital financial and planning goals in accordance with enterprise level goals, and in partnership with key leaders.
• Serving as physician champion, being a liaison between medical staff and clinical departments and physician lead for management and oversight of Advanced Practice Providers.
• Providing leadership and maintaining physician-hospital relations to ensure smooth delivery of daily operations at all hospitals and outpatient locations while meeting key objectives for quality, patients served and caregiver and patient experience.
The ideal future caregiver is someone who:
• Is an MD or DO with at least eight years of demonstrated leadership experience in a matrixed health care environment, preferably in a large medical practice or hospital setting.
• Understands daily hospital operations and can evaluate the operation of the hospital to ensure quality patient care, fiscal responsibility, operational efficiency and integrity, and the provision of comprehensive health services.
• Can lead quality and safety management efforts/improvements and work with clinical leaders to ensure high quality metrics.
• Can connect with people at emotional and intellectual levels such that the other person feels heard, respected, valued, understood.
• Identifies, nurtures and develops the skills and potential of individuals and teams. Recognizes opportunities for learning and advancement and creates an environment that fosters talent development.
• Takes ownership of achieving desired outcomes and fulfilling commitments.
