  • SUMMARY

    The Director of Casino Operations is responsible for directing slot and table games operations through strategic planning and successful implementations of goals, objectives, and policies in accordance with company objectives and Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations. The Director Casino Operations directs and coordinates departmental operating activities to achieve optimum operating efficiencies and economies and maximize company revenues and profit.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Responsible for the overall operation, planning and administration of the gaming floor and all gaming activity in the casino.
    • Collaborates with executive management to plan the strategies, operational goals, and budgets to support revenue growth and increased profit margins.
    • Responsible for leading and managing the division departments in a fashion commensurate with the Vision, Mission and Values of the organization while ensuring efficient and profitable operations.
    • Reviews daily and monthly gaming reports, financial reports, and budgets, providing written explanations for any unusual slot machine or table game statistical fluctuations, guest service levels and general gaming revenue performance, theoretical versus actual hold win percentages, and drop.
    • Analyzes and recommends changes to the participation footprint on the gaming floor.
    • Develops and provides full ROI analysis when recommending new gaming purchases (slots, table games, progressives etc.)
    • Focuses on the development, implementation, and continued improvement of guest experience within the gaming departments.
    • Partners with the Player Development team to establish and maintain contact with VIP guests. Participates in Special Events targeted at casino guests.
    • Works with the Marketing team to ensure that the strategic objectives align with both the overall business plan and the value proposition being presented to the market for GSR guests.
    • Reviews all gaming promotions and provides input and suggestions to the Executive Director of Marketing for improvement.
    • Attends and participates in meetings to be informed of new rules, regulations, and procedures. These meetings include but are not limited to, Monthly Compliance meetings, Monthly Financial Reviews, Weekly Casino Operations meetings.
    • Determines types, locations, denominations, and number of slot machines on the floor while merchandising the slot floor in an appealing manner.
    • Assures gaming departments are following federal currency transaction reporting requirements (Title 31) as well as all Minimum Internal Controls.
    • Maintains awareness of all gaming department activities and monitors performance of Team Members, ensuring adherence to casino policies and procedures, and all regulations of the Gaming Control Boards.
    • Ensures proper procedures are followed when slot machines or other gaming products are placed on or taken off the floor.
    • Maintains excellent relationships with vendors, staying informed of game and related product performance. Attends gaming shows and seminars as needed.
    • Ensures all gaming equipment is kept in good repair and in working order.
    • Verifies weekly staffing schedules for the casino department personnel.
    • Develops and implements gaming department policies and procedures to improve security and efficiency, and to safeguard assets.
    • May be required to perform a combination of supportive functions to be determined by Executive Leadership based upon the particular needs of other departments within the property.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of player tracking/accounting systems, floor coverage and margin control. Knowledge of Konami Synkros preferred.
    • Maintain knowledge, interpret, and explain game manuals, policies, and procedures.
    • Select, supervise, train, and evaluate team members.
    • Make difficult decisions that benefit the company in the short and long term.
    • Be a strategic, ethical, and effective motivator.
    • Forecast changes in the economic climate and/or profits and react accordingly.
    • Participate in the development and administration of goals, objectives, and procedures.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all team members and vendors.
    • Interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations.

    CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

    • Must obtain and maintain appropriate licensing with the Nevada Gaming Board.
    • Must obtain and maintain appropriate AES card.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • A bachelor’s degree or higher in related field is preferred.
    • Minimum of 4 years of Manager-level experience in slot and table games operations is required.
    • Resort and Gaming Industry experience is required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, kneeling, walking, reaching, twisting, grasping, lifting, listening, using computer, telephone, and speaking.
    • Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and writing, typing on computer keyboard.
    • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Work performed indoors, in climate-controlled environment.
    • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
    • Team Member may be exposed to odor and secondhand smoke.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee: must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, team members and others. Is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the casino; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
