    JOB DESCRIPTION:



    JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall supervision of the Security Department, compliance with the Tribal-State Compact and departmental procedure manuals, training of Security Officers and general safety of team members and guests. Responsible for the protection of the Casino Hotel assets. Responsible for the Security Network, Key and Access Control and the Fire Alarm System. Reports and assists the Yakama Nation TGA in investigations.

    • Ensure and maintain compliance with all ordinances, laws and other communicated expectations including but not limited to: NIGC Regulations, Yakama Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls and other communications from regulatory personnel.
    • Assumes overall managerial responsibility for the effective operation of the Department.
    • Develops and maintains short and long term departmental plans and budgets.
    • Establishes and maintains Security department policies and procedures.
    • Oversees the investigation of criminal/civil violations and incidents.
    • Institutes a program of ongoing training and development of staff.
    • Identifies and develops personnel to become future Security supervisors and managers.
    • Organizes departmental services and resources to meet company goals with an emphasis on effective and courteous service to guests and fellow Team Members.
    • Provides direction and timely counseling of staff as needed.
    • Recommends hiring and discipline within the department. Oversees staffing, scheduling and department evaluations.
    • Assist with customer liability and industrial injury claims.
    • Oversees the handling and safekeeping of Casino Hotel assets.
    • Ensure that all vendors are licensed in compliance with licensing requirements of TGA.
    • Serves on the Safety Board.
    • Builds relationships inside and outside of their department / team to improve ways of working and provide a great guest experience.
    • Models for the team, a strong work ethic and is visible, available and present for the guest and their team.
    • Identifies ways to improve workflows and processes to work smarter and increase efficiency.
    • Moves the situation quickly toward resolution by efficiently managing and controlling the circumstances.
    • Explains the “why” behind the resolution or action for the guest.
    • Pays attention to detail and conducts thorough research to make the best decision for the guest and the business.
    • Makes judgment calls based on understanding Legends Casino Hotels’ Purpose, Values and Objectives while utilizing research, knowledge, and experience.
    • Proactively shares guest feedback with executive management and peers in the spirit of continuous improvement.
    • Seeks to share and improve processes and workflows based on guest feedback.
    • Finds ways to make good use of their strengths and talents.
    • Be approachable and show empathy when appropriate.
    • Maintaining privacy and confidentiality when assisting the guest’s needs.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:



    SUPERVISION EXCERCISED: Security Manager


    LICENSE REQUIRED: Must obtain and hold a Class III gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.


    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED FOR POSITION: Four-year college degree and/or four years of experience as a commissioned law enforcement officer.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to walk or stand for up to 8 to 10 hours; ability to lift or move 50 (lbs) or more.


    SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION: Minimum of four years law enforcement experience. Must have knowledge of State and local laws in addition to Tribal regulations. Knowledge of security systems and safety procedures. Verifiable managerial or supervisory experience. Excellent guest relations skills. Casino security and/or surveillance experience helpful. Certification of CPR and First Aid required. Valid Washington State Driver’s License required.
