Security Director implements overall security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps. Being a Security Director implements staff training and operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Manages and maintains systems, alarms, and other physical security measures. Additionally, Security Director delivers education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues. Participates in local, state, provincial, or federal working or advisory groups to keep abreast with all security-related information, directives, and events. Leads and directs significant investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies. Possess a broad knowledge of law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline. Typically reports to senior management. The Security Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Security Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     JOB SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for leading and directing the Personal Trust and Wealth Advisory business lines and professionally administering personal trust, wealth management, estate and retirement plan accounts to ensure client retention and regulatory compliance.  Generates new business.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    New Business Development (30%)

    • Establishes a robust “pipeline” of new business prospects developed through independent calling efforts.
    • Achieves actual sales results resulting in a significant impact on the Division’s ability to achieve its budgeted revenue goals, and the Bank’s ability to achieve its strategic goals.
    • Actively contributes in sales meetings and calling routines serve as a role model for less seasoned personal trust officers.  

     

    Leadership (25%)   

    • Manages employees within department including but not limited to hiring, training and developing employees, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, salary recommendations, coaching and counseling, and administering corrective actions.

    Administer Personal Trust Accounts, Estates, Wealth Management and Retirement Plan Accounts (20%)

    • Administers sophisticated personal trust accounts, guardianship accounts, conservatorship accounts, escrow accounts, estate accounts, tax deferred IRA accounts and investment agency accounts across the whole spectrum of client relationships pursuant to the controlling document, state and federal regulations and client direction.
    • Diversifies assets to include such things as limited partnerships, agricultural and commercial real estate, and operating businesses ensuing they form a greater percentage of assets under management leading to a greater emphasis on dispute resolution skills.
    • Delegates a significant volume of administrative matters to a Senior Trust Services Specialist in order allow for client retention and new business calling efforts. Effectively coaches and mentors the Senior Trust Services Specialist to their fullest potential and, by so doing, to operate independently from the incumbent.   

     

    Client Retention (15%)

    • Performs frequent client communication, to include independent dispute resolution, investment performance reviews, and ongoing customer contact to ensure high levels of client retention.  

     

    Portfolio Review & Analysis (5%)

    • Independently establishes client investment policy statements, portfolio review and reallocation, and implementation of Trust Investment Committee recommendations.   

     

    Understand Operational Duties & Procedures (5%)

    • Ensures accurate and timely delivery of trust and investment services and possess the ability to interact with operations staff to accomplish the same.  

     

    Performs other duties as required and assigned.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Extensive knowledge of and the ability to articulate and utilize the Texas Uniform Trust Code, Texas Principal and Income Act and other relevant administrative statutes.
    • Extensive knowledge or experience in recommending sophisticated estate and financial planning concepts to include avoidance of the federal estate or generation skipping.
    • Extensive knowledge of investments and asset allocation strategies to include Modern Portfolio Theory and the Prudent Investor Act along with the ability to independently articulate the same to clients and prospects so as to engender trust and new business sales.
    • Extensive knowledge of trust accounting to include 1041 tax return production.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting time deadlines and maintaining outstanding customer service and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and self-starter demonstrating the ability to work independently but within an overall team approach.
    • Ability to complete required training by assigned due date.
    • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance.

     

    EDUCATION* 

    • Minimum of a 4-year college degree with an advanced degree in law, accounting, investments, or sales required.
    • A Certified Trust Financial Advisor (CTFA) or Certified Financial Provider (CFP) designation strongly preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE*

    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a Trust Officer or the practice of estate planning and being able to demonstrate increasing levels of business success against expectations in that role required.
    • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
