Security Director implements overall security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Being a Security Director implements staff training and operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. We are seeking a vigilant and experienced individual to serve as a Security Supervisor for our church campus. The Security Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and campus property. This role involves implementing security protocols, supervising security personnel, and coordinating emergency response procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security operations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a safe and secure learning environment.
Responsibilities
· Supervise a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
· Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
· Conduct regular patrols of the school premises to monitor for unauthorized activity, suspicious behavior, or safety hazards.
· Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders to develop and practice emergency response plans.
· Monitor security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems, to ensure proper functioning.
· Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, or medical emergencies, taking appropriate action as necessary.
· Investigate security breaches, incidents, or violations, documenting findings and recommending corrective measures.
· Provide guidance and support to visitors, staff, and students on security-related matters, including crime prevention and personal safety.
· Collaborate with campus administrators, teachers, and support staff to address security concerns and promote a positive campus culture.
· Conduct security assessments and risk evaluations to identify vulnerabilities and implement measure to mitigate risks.
· Maintain accurate records and reports related to security incidents, patrols, and investigations.
· Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in campus security and emergency management.
Requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in security management or law enforcement is preferred.
2. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a church, school, or educational setting.
3. Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage.
4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
6. Sound judgement and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
7. Knowledge of security equipment and technology, including surveillance systems and access control.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
9. Physical fitness and the ability to perform security duties, including walking, standing, and lifting, as needed.
10. Flexibility to work evening or weekend shifts, as needed.
