    Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

            

    Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform assigned duties in accordance with the Choctaw Gaming Commission Regulations, internal controls, Standard Operating Procedures and written policies and procedures affecting the protection and safeguarding of all property assets at the Pearl River Resort.
    • Prioritize requests for assistance or aid and dispatch the appropriate security staff as required. Log the request and action or solution to the situation or request for supervision review.
    • Listen to and acknowledge incoming radio calls, as appropriate. Ensure Timely responses to all calls for service. Notify Security supervision as necessary.
    • Dispatches and relay information to the assigned Security department personnel and other affected Resort associates to insure that situations and occurrences that require attention, assistance and service are promptly responded to.
    • Monitor, track and maintain the locations and status of all assigned Security Officers and Security Greeters. Direct and control responses for assistance, aid and new assignments as required.
    • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in performing all aspects of their assigned responsibilities.
    • Access computer logs and tracking screens to update information as events unfold or details change. Perform data entry functions and other tasks as required.
    • Assist in protecting and safeguarding all property assets.
    • Retrieve materials for qualified personnel upon request.
    • Monitor and operate required specialty equipment to complete the assigned duties. This would include areas such as: the fire control panel, computers and electronic logs.
    • Operate basic office equipment in order to complete assigned tasks.
    • Assist in maintaining office supplies, forms and required equipment and assist in arranging for equipment maintenance.
    • Assist in completing special projects and assisting other Security staff as requested or required.
    • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
    • Promotes a maximum level of guest service and satisfaction in the department.
    • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

    Qualifications

    AGE and GAMING:

    21 years of age or above.

    Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High School diploma or GED is required. Prior dispatcher experience preferred.

    TESTING:

    Must be able score a minimum of 35 WPM with 85% accuracy on Keyboarding. Must take the required testing identified for this position. (Testing must be completed within 5 business days of applying for the position.)

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Previous experience in the knowledge and use of basic computer operations is preferred. Previous experience in using the Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel) is also preferred. May not be convicted or arrested of any criminal offense.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other associates of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

     

    Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: Safely lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasions as well stand and walk for 50% of assigned shift. Able to sit for extended periods of time. Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.  

    Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
