Basic duties of a Signal 88 Dedicated Security Officer include protecting a site in a fixed location. All duties listed below are minimum requirements – additional duties listed in the site’s Post Orders are requirements as well.

• Controlled Access
• Camera Monitoring – if applicable, the officer monitors all screens, making certain cameras are functioning properly without obstruction of views. The officer performs regular video patrols if the technology allows, and responds to any security concerns produced by the cameras.
• Area Checks - officers perform foot patrols inside and outside the property to make sure all doors are closed and locked, and the buildings and exterior premises are void of any suspicious activity.
• Reporting - officer must report detailed information about what was seen and heard. This duty is imperative as this is the means by which the customer receives from S88 the assurance that the property was secured on a particular day at a particular time.
• Customer Service – officers assist guests and tenets with any reasonable requests for customer service and protection of person and property. Officers provide directions and assistance to guests in finding specific points of interest in and or around the building.
• The hours for this position are generally 9pm to 4am
• This position pays $16.00/hr

Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Pass background investigation
• Pass drug test
• Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skills
• Works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members
• Ability to conform to established procedures and to help identify and solve problems
• Ability to get along with other employees, follow directions, work under stress, add value and continuously improve
• Demonstrates a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times
• Must be able to work overnight, holidays and weekends
