    POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for development and delivery of a comprehensive security training program to educate, enable, and empower Security Department Team Members and casino leadership to fulfill regulatory requirements while delivering superior guest service as established in Red Wind Casino’s Service Standards.

    JOB SUMMARY: The Security Training Supervisor is a newly created position that will report to the Security Assistant Manager. The Security Training Supervisor will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of training policies, protocols, and curriculum development, with a view toward consistency, efficiency, best practices and limiting liability through the training of Red Wind Casino’s Security Team Members and general workforce in security and crisis-related matters. This position will lead the Security Training Academy program and provide instruction to all department instructors.

    Requirements

    Required skills and knowledge:

    • High school diploma or GED certificate.
    • Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement or security experience, with at least 1 year in the casino/gaming industry; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
    • 1 year of training experience.
    • Proven work experience as a Field Training Officer, Instructor, Trainer, Academy Cadre, or similar role.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of security and surveillance systems and safety procedures.
    • Successful completion of casino-provided training in First Aid, CPR, AED, Workplace Violence Prevention, and Handcuffing, along with earning and maintaining instructor-level certifications for these topics (as directed).
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract that must not contain any disqualifying events per the NRWC Safe Driver Policy.
    • Intermediate math skills.
    • Advanced report writing skills.
    • Intermediate computer skills.
    • Proficiency in operating general office equipment, including personal computers and software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook, as well as telephone, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain a positive and professional image.
    • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
    • Ability to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
    • Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
    • Proven ability to complete the full training cycle, including assessing training needs, planning, developing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating.
    • Ability to assess learning capabilities, develop training strategies, track training objectives, and assess results.
    • Demonstrated ability to set high standards for professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
    • Ability to manage several tasks at once.
    • A thorough knowledge of accepted gaming and security procedures.
    • Ability to use sound judgment and make critical decisions while remaining calm and professional under stress.
    • Ability to speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance during emergency situations.
    • Ability to create professional reports and business correspondence in accordance with casino standards.
    • Strong leadership skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with Team Members and internal/external partners.
    • Capability to motivate the entire casino to prioritize training and foster a culture of security awareness.


    Preferred skills and knowledge:

    • Casino security experience.
    • Prior experience in a supervisory/management role.
    • Bi-lingual.
    • Knowledge of Tribal-State Compact and Appendices and MICS for Class II and III Gaming.
    • Table games protection knowledge.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift up to 75 lbs.
    • Ability to sit, stand or continuously move for assigned shift.
    • Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
    • Ability to frequently to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle, feel, or grip objects; stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely.
    • Ability to tolerate a noisy, smoke-filled environment; or to be outside for long periods of time and may be exposed to the outside weather.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

    • Proactively identify and assess training needs through observations of security incidents, regular performance evaluations, and feedback from Security Team Members, ensuring the Security Training Academy's activities are effective and aligned with departmental goals.
    • Develop and manage a master training schedule, incorporating flexibility for ad-hoc training sessions and unforeseen operational demands, to ensure timely completion of training and certifications.
    • Implement, manage, and ensure compliance with policies and processes for standardized training, streamlined operations, and technology tool usage.
    • Monitor guest service standards in the department, identifying training needs.
    • Contribute to the successful onboarding of all new NRWC Team Members by facilitating interactive and engaging security, workplace violence prevention, and other related training programs during New Hire Orientation sessions.
    • Conduct recurring regulatory and compliance training to address new developments in the security industry, policy/procedure updates, and advancements in technology.
    • Identify and report new training requirements through proactive collaboration with instructors, department leadership, and casino management to continuously develop and improve the performance metrics of the Security Training Academy.
    • Deliver clear and concise communications through reports, briefings, and presentations as required, covering training activities/performance, updates/changes, and issues/concerns related to the ongoing delivery of all Security Training Academy requirements and functions.
    • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of training materials and equipment, including digital resources, physical manuals, and practical training aids, ensuring their relevance and accessibility.
    • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget process to allocate sufficient resources for training programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to approved budget guidelines, procurement procedures, and expense reporting policies.
    • Act as primary trainer for new Security Team Members, supervising them until certification.
    • The Security Training Supervisor may serve as a supervisory resource for Security Team Members when a Security Supervisor is not readily available.
    • Design effective training procedures using various instructional methods tailored to adult learners.
    • Establish a 'train the trainer' program for Lead Security Officers, enhancing department-wide training consistency. Through this program, provide Team Member supervision and guidance to the Lead Security Officers regarding their training.
    • Assist with the training provided to Strengthening Tribal Education Program (STEP) Apprentices as required.
    • Manage any third-party vendors selected and approved to provide specific security training services.
    • Provide or coordinate remedial training to Security Team Members, when necessary, as directed by security management.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
