JOB SUMMARY: Supervises payroll staff and the processing of payroll data for specific regions. Provides professional customer service to all regions serviced by the Eastern Operation Center, ensures accuracy, timeliness and effective completion of staff responsibilities in the areas of vacation, garnishments, off-cycles, unions, bonus processing, employment and wages verifications as well W2 requests. Preferred knowledge of Oracle Cloud Fusion with payroll experience and knowledge to assist with daily payroll processes. Works with District Office personnel to provide customer service with various requests related to off-cycle requests for missed pay, corrections, bonuses, or other payroll related items. Coordinate with payroll management on assigned duties and tasks and any special projects or initiatives.

- Provides supervision, assistance, and support to the payroll staff in the areas of off-cycle check processing, bonus processing, garnishments, unions, employment/wage verification, W2 requests and other support duties as assigned.
- Works to develop and foster positive working relationships, building an effective and cohesive team.
- Performs critical job functions as a Supervisor in payroll and aids or backfills for other supervisors and staff.
- Collaborates with other Supervisors and Payroll Managers across both Operating Centers on providing support for various weekly processes that require coordination and timing of completing certain check processes during the week.
- Work with all levels in the Payroll department and all District Offices serviced by the department in a positive, supportive manner consistent with the standards of Payroll.
- Assists with special projects and daily operational matters. May be assigned operational tasks related to payroll administration. These may include quarterly and year end processes, written procedures, special reports and/or queries requested from field office, centralized processes and any other projects as assigned.
- Review of payroll processes for improvements and increased efficiency and maintains and updates written procedures as related to job functions.
- Effectively addresses payroll related issues and employee requests both written and verbally.
- Handles conflict effectively and helps to research and resolve employee problems in a positive manner.
- Participates in meetings and collaborates with other Supervisors and Manager positively and effectively by sharing of ideas within the department.
- Proactive approach to providing excellent support and customer service to the assigned Regions and District Offices.
- Communicates with field offices and associates to respond and resolve questions regarding payroll issues.
- Assists Manager and Director as requested. Additional duties assigned, as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
- Minimum of five (5) years of payroll processing experience and fast paced customer experience
- Ability to effectively supervise team members, work as a member of that team and organize work activities for other members of that team.
- Ability to analyze/interpret complex data; interpret day-to-day business objectives, preparation/execution of operational practices and work programs
- Results oriented individual with strong customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide positive influence and feedback
- Adapt to conflicting deadlines and priorities established by company demands
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of payroll processing experience
- Three (3) years’ payroll supervisory experience or equivalent management skills preferred
- Experience in a shared service environment and solid understanding of payroll cycles
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud
