SECURITY SUPERVISOR supervises a team of security guards that ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Schedules security guard staff shifts. Being a SECURITY SUPERVISOR assigns guards to patrol and inspect of buildings and grounds. Ensures protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Additionally, SECURITY SUPERVISOR monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures. Trains staff on policies and procedures for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Updates team on local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. Assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS). Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. As a Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the security operations at events and/or properties of varying sizes and nature. The Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of event staff, implementing security protocols, and collaborating with event organizers to create a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for attendees.
Successful Characteristics:
Ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations to ensure the safety of the team and attendees
Provide outstanding customer service and ensure team does the same
Lead by example, represent and instill BATTLE in team members
Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded at all times; maintain client relationship; ensure Market Manager and Executive Team member are included on all client communications
Flexibility to make changes to schedule, post assignments, etc. while on the move
Knowledge of emergency response procedures and security protocols
Available to travel up to 25%
Responsibilities:
Train team members on all posts and tasks
Develop and maintain a plan for event/property to ensure breaks and lunches are taken by team members
Maintain the roster of assigned employees at all times
Schedule all shifts for assigned event/property for your team; ensure pre-event briefings are conducted and expectations are clearly communicated
Ensure all necessary information is communicated to team members and Market Manager
File incident reports as required
Partner with Market Manager to address performance issues with team members
Work a minimum of forty (40) billable hours per pay period (every two weeks)
Admin tasks must be completed during billable hours; admin time outside billable hours must be pre-approved by the Market Manager
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
High school diploma; Associate’s degree in relevant field
Military experience strongly preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience
Ability to pass criminal background check
