SECURITY SUPERVISOR supervises a team of security guards that ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Schedules security guard staff shifts. Being a SECURITY SUPERVISOR assigns guards to patrol and inspect of buildings and grounds. Ensures protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Additionally, SECURITY SUPERVISOR monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures. Trains staff on policies and procedures for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Updates team on local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. Assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS). Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Guard watches and patrols hospital, building or office grounds and property to defend against damage, theft, of harm caused by others. Duties are performed unarmed. Walks or drives around premises to insure building or post security. Maintains a lookout at exits to guard against theft. Inspects identification of persons prior to entering restricted areas. The security guard observes activity at a particular post or posts and reports any unusual activities to the supervisor of other responsible person. Performs routine monitoring and reporting duties and follows specific guidelines for observing and reporting such incidents. Reports malfunctions of equipment that may impact the security and well being of the facility to supervisor and/or facility management. Required to interact with public and other facility staff with courtesy and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. Must have five (5) years experience, employed in a security related position, two (2) years, which must have been in a lead or supervisor capacity.
3. Must not have a record of preventable motor vehicle collisions or convictions for moving traffic violations which would indicate the applicant may be an unsafe driver.
4. Be capable of working efficiently and effectively at any time of the day or night, including irregular and unscheduled hours, after sufficient rest.
5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1. High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required.
2. Must hold a Valid Texas Department of Public Safety Non-Commissioned Security Officer License
3. Must possess the appropriate Texas Operator's and/or Commercial Drivers License to operator vehicles
