Regional Clinical Program Manager

  • NVCSS is a non-profit agency that provides mental health counseling, case management, support services and housing to individuals and families.

    Our Counseling Department provides youth specialty mental health services throughout Shasta and Butte Counties. We provide therapeutic and case management services to full-scope Medi-Cal school-aged youth and families in school-based, community, and home settings, utilizing a comprehensive clinical approach and multiple modalities to restore functioning. We provide our staff the flexibility to explore their perspectives on healing in both focused and eclectic styles while remaining on the cutting edge of new interventions and trauma-informed care. Additionally, many of our staff are trained and teach additional strategies in both individual and parent work, including the Nurtured Heart Approach and the Strengthening Families Model, to promote positive family relationships and reinforce bonds.

    Our diverse team consists of our Counseling Leadership team, including the Assistant Director of Mental Health and Director of Mental Health, as well as supervisors, therapists, social workers, case managers, a data specialist, billing specialists, trainees and an IT team. Our BBS supervisors offer a range of educational backgrounds and training and include LMFTs, PhD, and an LCSW overseeing staff in all areas of professional development.

    We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced clinician that is looking for a rewarding challenge to manage and lead our Counseling Department primarily in our Chico office, but will occasionally travel to the Redding office. This role will serve in the Counseling Leadership team and will be responsible to direct, plan, organize, coordinate and supervise all staff within the Counseling Department.

    Examples of Duties:

    • Direct the Mental Health Services Programs
    • Conduct weekly meetings with staff to review current caseload, discuss program issues, and monitor program progress
    • Provide ongoing direction for staff on a daily basis
    • Provide direct clinical services which may include any of the following: individual and group therapy, family therapy, therapy with adults and/or children, and psychological testing
    • Coordinate ongoing training for Program staff with the Training Director
    • Develop and promote a sense of teamwork among staff
    • Provide staff with immediate attention and direction when a crisis arises
    • Intervene on behalf of program staff with all involved parties, when necessary
    • Meet with Supervising Therapist(s) to discuss clinical and administrative performance of staff
    • Evaluate staff in writing 5 working days prior to the evaluation deadline
    • Monitor the review of case files on a monthly basis to insure that files are current and complete and overseeing documentation of all evaluation requirements
    • Maintain a solid working knowledge of all rules and regulations that have been established by state law, the Board of Behavioral Science, Medi-Cal, and NVCSS
    • Meet all reporting responsibilities within time frames established by program funding resources and NVCSS administration.
    • Develop and provide community service presentations to public and private agencies and organizations
    • Prepare preliminary program budget outlines punctually, accurately, and within available program resources
    • Implement adequate controls to insure that program expenditures do not exceed program revenues
    • Promote programs in the community at a level sufficient to maintain a program that fully utilizes the available staff time to the maximum reasonable capacity
    • Attend designated community service provider meetings
    • Network with appropriate community service providers and referral sources to maintain a positive working relationship with the community
    • Develop and maintain promotional activities that successfully market the program and recruit new clients
    • Develop and implement new programs that augment and supplement the primary program function, including research and grant writing
    • Complete forms for program funding and all other required reports to funding sources and NVCSS
    • Discuss program issues with the Head of Mental Health Services or the County Director on a weekly basis
    • Keep the Director of Mental Health and Assistant Director of Mental Health informed of all critical developments as these developments occur
    • Act as a agency representative and provide presentation and appear in court for agency-related cases as necessary
    • Perform related duties as required

    Qualifications:

    • Have an active California BBS license and be in good standing with the California BBS Examiners or appropriate licensing agency either as a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Eligible Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
    • At least three years of experience progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience
    • Experience working with Medi-Cal programs, such as CalAIM, documentation, and billing procedures
