`Job purpose

• The Accounts Payable /Office Assistant will provide accurate and timely Accounts Payable processing along with front office support activities including answering and directing phone calls, daily mail processing and distribution, bank deposits, paperwork filing and data entry into accounting systems.

Duties and responsibilities

• Processing accounts payable invoices and customer payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, account coding, and recording accounts payable data into SBT Accounting system
• Verify and investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Understand Accounts Payable compliance issues and processes (W-9, sales tax and tax exemption status)
• Generate reports detailing accounts payable activity
• Daily trips to post office and bank as required
• Timely maintenance of Accounting and Human Resource file records.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• Proven work experience in Accounts Payable and front office support activities.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and MRP systems, SBT knowledge would be a plus.
• Possess exceptional data entry skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Exhibits good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or contribute as a team member
• Must have current driver’s license and clean driving record
• Bachelor or Associate Degree in Accounting preferred.

Office environment with daily trips to post office and bank. Lifting ability up to 25 lbs.
