• Check the quality of food products to ensure that standards are met.
• Sanitation practices must be met at all times.
• Check the quantity and quality of received products.
• Order food or other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
• Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
• Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes or menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients.
• Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labor, and overhead costs.
• Prepare and cook foods of all types on a regular basis and for special functions.
• Meet with staff and families to discuss menus rotations and alternative food options.
• Coordinate planning, budgeting, or purchasing for all the food.
