We are looking for a passionate qualified early childhood educator. Berlin Education Station has openings for Infant and Toddler Teachers and Assistants. We are looking for people who have a passion for instilling values in young children. Perspective applicants should possess high energy and the ability to handle the demands of infants/toddlers with different personalities and needs.
To ensure success, the teacher should display a gentle and nurturing personality, and the patience to assist each child to mature cognitively. They should be able to assist in developing the children's social skills as they interact with each other.
Early Childhood Educator Responsibilities:
- Guiding toddlers through education/development programs.
- Thinking on their feet and responding to each child’s needs efficiently.
- Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child.
- Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
- Building secure relationships with the children.
- Working closely with management to ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
- Reporting accidents, illness, and unusual behavior of children to the principal, head of department, and parents.
- Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.
- Protects the safety of all children in the center.
- Directly always supervises children.
- Uses positive phrasing with children.
- Communicates frequently with children throughout the day, naming objects, actions, using who, what, when, where. and why, and open-ended questions.
- Exhibits behavior management consistent with Berlin Education Station philosophy, including reflecting children’s feelings, approaching children to speak with them, directing comments toward children’s behavior, not at the children themselves, etc.
- Co-plays/interacts with children during play activities both indoors and on the playground.
- Treats each child with dignity and respect, recognizing the cultural and socio-economic diversity of the population.
- Responds to the individual needs and learning styles of children.
- Responds to children in distress promptly and appropriately.
- Is responsible for all mealtime activities of the group. Helps children serve themselves. Monitors children closely during meals.
- Meeting with parents to discuss the goals and needs of students in their program
- Coordinating with administration to create education plans for the students
- Tracking the academic performance of students for signs of progress
Lead Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development
- College Transcripts
- Previous Work Experience in Toddler Preschool Setting, at least 2 yrs
- CPR/first Aide certified and trained.
- 45 Hrs. In Early Childhood Development
- 45 Hrs. In Early Childhood Infant/Toddler Curriculum
- Basic Health and Safety Training
- COVID-19 Training Course
- ADA ( The Americans with Disabilities Act) Training Course
- Medication Administration
- Supporting Breastfeeding in Child Care Practices Training
- A Passion for Working with Toddlers

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.50 - $18.00 per hour
