Set Designer designs motion picture or television production sets, signs, props, or scenic effects. Prepares scale drawings for use in construction, modification, or alteration. Being a Set Designer may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Set Designer relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This seasonal, part-time position accurately assembles grills, furniture and patio furniture for delivery as well operates a box truck as necessary to deliver merchandise for the company. The position may also assist in the accurate assembly of merchandise for the sales floor as well as assembly for customer deliveries and pick-ups. Responsibilities include the loading and unloading of trucks; reading work orders or other related paperwork to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed; operating a 3,500 to 4,000 lbs. electric tow motor, with or without a 12’ long protruding carpet pole, to load and unload freight and accurately assembling merchandise. The position typically works day shift hours Monday through Friday from March-August
Qualifications include a valid Pa driver’s license, clean driving record and the ability to operate a box truck for deliveries. Additional responsibilities include the ability to operate a forklift and hand and power tools; the ability to understand and use assembly instructions; and the ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs.
