Purpose

This position is responsible for sewing/serging and/or binding the company products in an efficient and productive manner while maintaining high quality standards.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Must be detail oriented and organized
• Must work well under pressure
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Possess general knowledge of sewing/serging/binding skills, preferred
• Must be willing to learn new skills and follow direction
• Must pass pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug screening

Essential Functions

• Match correct colors for the material being sewn with the yarn/binding material being used
• Maintain a high-quality standard and re-work any material that does not meet standards
• Take all rugs that need to be re-cut to the Cutter
• Manage all sewn/bound product and guide through the manufacturing process keeping all styles separated as instructed
• Maintain an accurate count of production output
• Complete all required production paperwork correctly and in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean work area at all times
• Shift to different work areas when needed to maintain and meet production expectations
• Meet all safety standards and follow all rules and regulations
• Notify supervisor of any/all problems that may prohibit meeting production expectations

Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)

• This position is hourly non-exempt, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
